On our trip to Alaska, while still in the US we stopped at the end of the day & found that our Samsung Residential refrigerator had moved out of the slide. I looked under the front of the refrigerator & saw that there is a little strip of cheap wood designed to keep the refrigerator from moving out of the slide out. The screws securing the strip of wood had broken the wood. I moved the refrigerator back in place & bought a piece of red oak to put in place of the wood. A couple of days later, just east of Grand Prairie, Alberta we hit a section of road like a roller coaster. I stopped at a rv park about 15 minutes later & the refrigerator had moved 2 feet into the main section of the trailer. This is a 345 Solitude with refrigerator in rear left side of the rig. The refrigerator had jumped over the red oak. Grand Design has a small block of wood in the back of the refrigerator opening which is supposed to keep the refrigerator from bouncing. Unfortunately there is about a 2 inch space between the block of wood& the refrigerator.

Has anyone else had this problem & how did you fix it? Thanks

Part of your problem is where your refrigerator is located. It is very bumpy back there and the bumps are magnified because of the "fulcrum" caused by the wheels ( it's like wanting to sit in the back of the school bus when you were a kid).

You are going to have to brace that refrigerator so it can't move up or down. You might be able to accomplish this with a couple of straps, or wooden braces. Just be certain that whatever you do, you are bracing against something solid, not just the Luan plywood that is prevalent inside the coach.

I would also add large washers and more screws to the oak strip at the bottom. I would also recommend some type of strap to prevent the top of the fridge from sliding forward.

Good luck.

PS: please let us know how you solve the problem.

I agree with your comments regarding a rear refrigerator. We selected the 345 because it had a desk in the back. Overall, we are very happy with the layout. I will use washers when I get home & reinstall the refrigerator permanently. I don’t think I’ll need straps to keep the refrigerator from moving forward again as the red oak is very durable. The refrigerator bounced up & over the strip I installed. But I think that problem is solved as I drilled holes through the metal feet & installed screws through the holes into the red oak & slide out floor.

I’m looking for additional input from folks who had this problem & have fixed it.

Please see my reply in my original reply. I have an unrelated question for you which will probably be moved to the proper topic. How many amps are in each of your Model S modules & what was the cost? I have 2400 watts of solar panels & 8 100 amp lithium batteries.
