For those, like me, who only want to be directed to a certain forum page (new posts) when selecting a saved android phone home screen url icon, I dont see a way to do this without another forum selection. Also, have noticed that when trying to add a home page shortcut to my android with WIFI on and/or using phone internet, my android always wants to install the forum app which always directs me to the forums page instead of the new posts page I want to see. The following gets around that issue.

1. Go to the url/page in the forum you want to pop up each time you enter the site using your android Chrome App. Copy the url of the page you want displayed to clipboard. If you click on the url, it will allow you to copy that pages url address.
2. Enter phone settings and turn off WIFI and place phone in "AIRPLANE" mode.
3. If locked previously, unlock "Home Screen Layout" in phone settings.
4. Enter Chrome, paste the saved url address from the clipboard into the search and hit enter. It will give you an error, ignore it.
5. Hit the 3 dot (hamburger) icon in the right hand corner and select "Add to home screen".
6. Replace the name with one you like and add to your home page.
7. Turn back on WIFI and turn off AIRPLANE mode.
8. You should now be able to directly access the forum page you want without going thru the main menu.

Note: May require new sign in depending on your platform (windows, android, apple, mac) that you use.... especially if you clear your internet cache regularly.

Happy Trails!

Should number 8 include a note that you still have to log in even after selecting your new bookmark?

Thanks for the tip. I just added it to my bookmarks (MacBook, Safari) and it works. Since it is usually the first place I look too I think I'll start using this URL instead of the one that takes you to the main page.

Probably should add the note of signing in. When using my android, it saves my signin info always and gets me in already logged in. Windows on the other hand, if clearing google/chrome cache (which BTW would recommend for all to do), it will require a new sign in.

Been playing a bit with this.... Not only is it handy for signing in and going straight to New Posts, but is quickly becoming my favorite way of getting back to New Posts once signed in.

Thats how I use it on my phone an PC.

What about just bookmarking this page?

Should be able to do that one too.

Note: Would be nice if the site GUI coders would include a page preference when logging in. That way one could use the app instead of this work around to display a perfered page in the forum. One could always navigate to another site page using the site bar at the top of each page.

From what I understand the app is nothing more than what you see now.. Could be wrong tho

No, you are correct. Just a wish list option for those of us that may be more interested (or more often?) to view a certain page....

You know you can click on the "Watch" button on the top of a thread and then when you log in you can click on the "Watched" button a list of threads you want quick reference to (the ones you clicked "Watch on) is shown.

Still won't take you to a specific thread/post, but may help out.

It may because you can choose to watch full sections not just threads
