I went to the Tampa RV show today. It's a good day to attend as it is the Industry Day and it isn't crowded at all.

The new Class C (Lineage? models); who knew Ford made an F600 chassis? Not at all crazy about that model/floor plan. The smaller Class C models were so-so; not much innovation; and why-oh-why is it necessary to have a huge king bed in something with so little living and closet area? The madness continues.... too many engineers and designers with no clue of RV usage/livability (probably across all manufacturers).

Moving on the the Solitude.... We liked the decor (colors and trim work). Unfortunately I believe it had a Furion refrigerator - ugh!!! Other than that we were please with the new Solitude models look and feel. Not much stood out - no really innovative features that stood out. oh - love seat was nice; couch was horrible to sit in.

Eveyone has the own opinions, desires, likes, and dislikes. This was just our initial and brief impression. Since we aren't in the market for a new RV not a lot of this matters to us (for now).

As a point of reference we also looked at Brinkly, Alliance, DRV and a few various Forest River models. oh - and peeked at a lot of Class Bs and established manufactures of Class Cs. Still - not in the market right now. So poking fun at them, seeing what we like and don't like all-the-while seeing different approaches/floorplans is good sport for a day.

Our primary mission today was to look at new a new sofa to replace the pealing one we have. Interestingly LazyDays had some nice Thomas Payne furniture (with a 5 year warranty), RecPro introduced us to a sofa bed we had over looked while shopping on line, and Lambright continue to be top notch with quality and remains in the running for a replacement in spite of the hight cost (we already own one of their love seats).

I see on the GD website the Mercedes based are $195K. Obviously diesel. But only have a 24 gallon fuel tank.
What powerplant and tank size are on the F600? Length? Price? thanks

Ford F600 chassis isn't anything new....we've had the THOR Omni Super C's on them for a few years. They are also 4X4. What I don't understand is why GD thinks the chassis needs another 2" of lift and FOX shocks on a motorhome....

It's funny to hear all the varied opinions, makes life interesting. If they would have built the MB Lineage with a queen bed, people would complain about not having a King. The mattress size is as objective as the mattress comfort.

The Omni's that we carry have almost 67 gallons of fuel in 2 tanks. Powered by a 6.7 Powerstroke diesel.

We wouldn't have bought our Lineage if it had a queen bed. For the amount of time we spend on the road why not sleep in the same comfort as we are used to at home?

Thanks for the report, we haven't made it to the show yet. Our clothes dryer ( lives in a cargo trailer aka the laundry room) required some repair then the part was broken a few trips back and forth to the appliance parts place eats up to much time. We are hoping to make it tomorrow/fri. Or maybe next year ☹️
We were hoping to talk to the vendors more than look at rvs.. at 10 yrs old we thought roof replacement might be wise before we have issues rather than after. Also need an AC unit before it gets real hot out that will be a mobile repair job but wasn't to look at various models. So far leaning to the Coleman AC.
Did want to see the GD Super C but sounds like we may not be missing anything.

I'm not sure it was in the F series (the super C) model or not, but one of the RVs we went in had a GREE brand air conditioner. It was really quiet. It made an impression and a lot of folks around noted how quiet it was. You may want to investigate that. I'm going to look around at ACs even tho I don't need one now. Folks are saying the Furion Chill Cube is quite too.

We arrived on Wednesday and are staying at the fairgrounds. Walked around yesterday and looked at a few manufacturers. Spent more of yesterday inside the vendor buildings. I agree that the new Solitude interior color/trim is nice. Looks very clean and bright, but not utilitarian like I remember the Brinkley's. Didn't look at them yet.

Nothing impressive about the Brinkleys. Montana had a cool floor plan, non-toy hauler, with a side patio. Looked like a very heavy option hanging off that side of the 39' 5th wheel. Alliance was meh. Going up in price, thought the Redwoods and Riverstone Legacy were nicely done with the price at roughly $50K more than a comparable Solitude. These include full body paint, so the price point isn't too bad. They look more luxurious but is the overall quality any better? For another $50K more, you get a Mobile Suites. While they are more bling and more weight, I couldn't see what you get for the extra $50K over Redwood/Riverstone Legacy.

We made it today, the lineage Super C left me unimpressed and clostaphobic. The West the displays were broke up into different areas was word and the hospitality tent wasn't overly hospitable this afternoon. But we didn't cover the whole show.
It seemed the vendor selection was a little light too with less variety. We looked at the Furrion chill and the new Dometic Fresh jet 7 low profile @ 8 inches tall coming out in about a month or 2.

Time for a class action law suit against Thomas Payne /GD ours didn't last 1 year when we notice it was to late to do anything about GD turn a death ear to our complaint said to call Thomas Payne and they said to call GD what a runaround

We had to have work done on the roof of our Solitude last year. We opted to forego the warranty debacle and had a RV Flex Armor spray-on roof put on it; besides, a warranty claim would have been to replace the membrane roof, and we didn’t want that debacle either. The spray-on roof was about 1/2 the price of replacing the membrane roof, and we’ve been more than happy with the results. The RV Flex Armor roof also has a transferable lifetime warranty. Y’all might want to give that a look.
