I'm using the round factory stinky slinky storage tube under our 2024 reflection 5th wheel. I store 2 - 10 footers in there. Last time I pulled one of the slinky's out i noticed quite the build up of moister in the tube. Then I noticed it is a sealed tube with no venting or drain holes to allow any moister to escape. Anyone else with this issue? and if so, are you all drilling some small drain/vent holes in the tube or end caps?

I use Camco cap sets on both of our hoses instead. Years ago I would vent the carriers but that just made easy access for insects, spiders, and abrasive sand from travel to get in.

You could use a hole saw to cut a large hole in each end or drill a series of small holes. Then cover the holes with wire mesh. Keeps bugs out and lets hoses breathe. The end caps on my bumper are the same principle.

I went ahead and drilled a 3/4 hole in each end cap. I'll see how that goes for now. Yes, thinking about it, our old trailer had holes in the bumper caps and I never noticed a moisture issue in the bumper tube.

We keep the stinky slinky caps on ours. However, after disco-ing from the RV main, we spray water down the hose to clean out any debri before disco-ing from the CG sewer end. Let drain for a few, colapse the slinky, and cap it off at both ends before stuffing it in the stinky storage tube.

BTW, never had any issues with stinky slinky juice in the storage tube when using caps! No holes required.
