We get a sewer smell in the bedroom closet every time we shower. We can not keep our clothes in the closet because of the smell. I welcome all suggestions.

Assuming that you are smelling gray water and not black, it sounds like a possible venting issue. Perhaps the vent pipe is not properly sealed? It's possible the vent stack goes up the wall between the shower and closet so if there is a vent issue, it's logical that the closet might smell.

I would pull the panel below/in front of the shower pan. Get a flashlight and see what you can see from there. Does it smell under there? Can you see the rubber seal where the drain goes into the tank, and does it look like it is seated and sealing well? Do you see moisture around the pipe from the shower drain into the tank, or where connections are made on any of the vent pipes. An endoscope camera works well for seeing further in, such as up the wall where the vent stack goes up to the roof. Good luck!

Also, the vent pipe may be loose at the top letting gray tank gas into the attic. You can go on the roof, remove the sealant and screw holding the cap on top of the vent to see if the pipe vents to the outside or if the pipe dropped below the roof into the attic space.

Alternately, if you are not using tank treatment chems in the gray tank, giving it a try may prevent the stink or at least confirm its the cause of the odor.

Or - like ours, in the closet that is on the same wall as the bathroom (if there is one). Ours you have to remove the drawers in the closet to get to it.

You could have an AAV valve bad.
Also If your coach is like ours, the closet is also where the clothes washer would be installed. The drain pipe for the clothes washer should have a HEPVO valve installed. If it has failed, or is missing, grey tank sewer smell can seep up through the clothes washer drain line. If that is the case you could plug it somehow or put a piece of gorilla tape over the clothes washer drain line to see if that is the cause.

Not familiar with your rig, however, we had a similar situation where we assumed a ventilation issue (which yours could be), but it turned out that we had a significant leak of grey water from our shower drain, which lead to a buildup of standing water in the undercarriage of the TT (and an associated odor). In short, such a situation (grey water leak) could happen at any nearby grey water piping.

As others have suggested, if checking ventilation brings negative results, look further for grey water leaks that could also be the source of the odor.

Good luck.

I had the same issue.. a sewer odor throughout, was actually the battery for the unit. New battery, no more odor. Battery was swollen upon removal. Not sure the cause, may be over charging, but I'm keeping an eye on it. No issues since change out.
