Congratulations on your 3rd GDRV ! It will be interesting to read your posts comparing this Mo to your 2017 Mo. Hope it and GDRV will treat you well for many years.

A few pictures from our first year full-time in the Momentum 320G. We left mobile for a trip back home to Georgia. Then drove headed out to Wyoming for the summer. In October we headed south to Phoenix for 3 months. IMG_5204.jpgIMG_0369.jpgIMG_3554.jpgIMG_3543.jpgIMG_3608.jpg

Picked up the new Rig last Wednesday (397TH). Attached are a couple of pics.

On this rig it came with the new Curt axles that have ABS drum brakes. So far I have had 2 of the bearing grease caps come off and get stuck in the hub cap area. Anyone else have this happen on their new rigs?

I also have Curt axles, the same thing happened to one of my wheels. I pulled the wheel, everything looked good, reinstalled the grease cap and bought new center cap plugs. So far, so good. Nice looking setup!

Thanks for the reply and your experience. So one came off on the way from Elkhart to NC when it was being delivered to the dealer. The dealer put it back on. Then it came off on the way from dealer home (150 miles). I also took the wheel off checked everything, seemed ok, I put it back on... Went to Myrtle Beach for the first outing during Memorial Day Weekend, and I had it pop off on the way. This time I was able to get it back on without removing the wheel. When I got home, I had 2 weeks like this.

GDRV has told me they are in talks with Curt about this as this s not normal, so I will share what I learn from them. I know they had an engineering call today about it. Just dont have an update. They are sending me parts, including center caps so we will see.

Thanks again...

I didn't even think of calling GD, good idea. I just reshaped the grease cap and reinstalled it so it was a tight fit. I haven't put many miles on since the repair, but I have an 800 mile round trip coming up in a few weeks, I'll keep an eye out. Looking forward to any info if you hear anything from GD (probably worth starting a new thread, I'm sure we aren't the only ones).

I will start a new thread on the grease caps as I agree and think it will be a good idea. i will share what I learn from GD for sure.

I had a bearing cap come off on my last trailer during our first trip with it. Since you can't be sure that no contaminants got into the grease, I asked the dealer to re-pack that bearing under warranty which they did. May be worth asking for that once you get new caps and are confident they will stay in place.

Yeah, I feel the same way, they should be redone. problem is my dealer is 150 miles one way, and the time and fuel costs, i would just repack them myself I think and while I am at it, get some free bearings from GD to ensure there is not already damage :). Its messy and not what I want to do, but 300 more miles and then waiting for it either for an entire day or leaving it is not really something I want. I will just do the work likely but get the comp for it, which is more than reasonable.

Thanks for your input.

I would do the same if I was that far away too - my dealer (which has been great) is only 20 miles away so I have let them do most of the warranty work on my last 2 units.

Nice looking rig! My only question would be: how much clearance do you have between the bed rails and the underside of the trailer gooseneck? Looks kinda close.

Rob

Thanks! I believe it's at least 5 inches - the picture makes it look closer than it is. Next time I'm hitched up I'll measure.

If anyone is interested and running a factory puck system, the B&W OEM ball gave me an extra 1.5" of clearance over the rails - it is tall above the bed floor. Believe Curt also makes a tall one now as well. I was between 8 and 9 inches (on the lower end over the tailgate) when I measured the B&W and dropped to a Curt ball which puts me about 7-7.5" mostly because of a low bridge experience. I still carry the B&W with me and I'll probably switch back and forth on next trip just to see if there is any difference in how they tow. I like both, but I kind of think that when I was closer to TV payload, the B&W felt better.
