Well we returned from our first real use of our 369RL. We came back with a short punch list of things that need to be correct. The most disturbing concern water leaks. Our dining room slide seems to be leaking but I couldn't find where the pesky water was intruding. Even more concerning was our shower. It appears that the faucet fixture is leaking, especially around the hot water side as well as the hose. The hose appears to be tight. Even more distrubing is the fact that after a shower there is water coming out from betweent the base of the shower unit and the floor. This could be either a drain leak issue, or related to the faucet issue, as the water leak appears to be coming from behind. We are heading back out again this weekend, but the trailer is scheduled for service on the 29th of the month. I am hopeful that the Customer Service and warrenty service are as good as they seem to be.

Sorry about your problems. Hope that the dealer takes good care of you. From what I have been able to tell, both dealers close to you have a good reputation.

After talking with customer service yesterday this is what I found. The one photo shows the back of the shower unit with the system pressurized, but the shower itself turned off. The other photo shows what is happening when I turn the shower on. After speaking with customer service, there is a new faucet on it's way and will be at the house in time for me to have it installed prior to heading out for the Memorial day weekend.

I can't say enough good things about the support that the Grand Design team is providing.

Quick update. Thanks to the wonderful customer service personal, I receiver as new faucet unit yesterday. I installed it this morning and problem solved. Now if the slide leak issue gets fixed as easily when the trailer heads in for service next week.

David, did you have to cut out inside the linen closet to get to the back of the faucet? What are you going to do to close the opening?

Steve

Actually, there are four square head screws holding on the side of the closet. I removed the screws to acess the back of the the shower unit. The same is true in the bedroom. If you remove the screws holding the decrative trim piece, you will have acess to the bathroom faucet.

Reveived a call from the dealership servicing my unit. They have found the issue with our dining room slide and the water leakage there. The slide needed adjustment and a wider piece of trim needed to be installed. They are working with GD to have a wider trim piece installed to prevent any further leakage. I have having them check the remaining slides for alignment issues as well as lubercate them while it is in for service. So far I am very pleased with this dealer and their service department. Sould have the unit back in time for the next outing to PA at the end of June.

Glad to hear you are pleased with the dealer. Our unit is currently at our dealer in Richmond for repair from the tire blowout. So far we have been happy with them; will let you know more when the work is done.

I see the same shower unit in a number of different brands of fifth wheel trailers. And leaks around the bottom are the norm--not an exception.

Many owners will get a tube of clear silicone, tape off the bottom with masking tape, and perform a sealing job around the base.

It's just one of those nit picking things that are so often reported online.

Blow out was not Towmax... Were B/F Goodrich Commercial T/A 225 75R16 with 30k miles less than 4 yrs old. Different size but same date as ones recalled for tread separation. New "tennies" on the little house are Bridgestone Duravis R250.

2hams. Your unit is probably at the same dealer as mine as there is only one dealer in Richmond. For me the choice came down to milage. There is a GD dealer in Portsmouth also, but Richmond is closer to where I live. If we aren't happy with them, then we will try the dealer in Portsmouth. I would also be interested in your experience with the dealer.

David - We are at the same dealer. Well I think that I missed a call from them today. Told them I wanted to get the rig back in time to join their group campout in Winchester the end of the month.
