I have a 2014 Reflection 293RES, #190. Is it possible to order sink covers for the kitchen sink? If so, what is the cost?
Thanks,
Ken Smith

Good question as I wanted to know this as well. Also curious as to why some come with the covers and others do not. Same with the stove cover.

Here is one of my model the 323 BHS that has sink covers.

Hi Ken (@hflinger),

We do have aftermarket kitchen sink covers for the Reflection through our Parts department -- if this is of interest, please contact your dealer for pricing and ordering assistance (as we do not sell parts retail direct).

Best regards,
~ Janice

My dealer supplied my sink cover and it is flat black plastic. The stove cover, also supplied by my dealer is a smoke/black cover that folds up and out of the way.
I had not seen a matching sink cover, that would have been nice to have.

I actually don't care for the fold up stove covers. I bought one made out of black nylon that covers it perfectly with padding on the bottom that also serves as a cutting board. It can easily be stowed in the pantry when I need the stove. As for the sink covers I saw the black inserts and they just don't look aesthetically pleasing. I'd just as soon go buy a sheet of the nylon in a more complimentary color and take a jug saw to it and make my own. The preference would be to have it like the ones in the photo I posted that match the counter top.

I have the ones like the photo above in my 2014 Reflection 337RLS. I ordered them through the dealer's parts department.
I think the cost was around $100. You may still be able to get them even though they are using a different type now.
I think we bought ours sometime in December 2014.

Some people have reported problems with the covers bouncing off the sink when traveling.
I just store mine under the sink when not using them.

K

This stuff is kind of crazy. Our December build 337RLS came with the sink covers. I didn't have to order them or anything, they were in the trailer when we picked it up.

Sink covers are an often discussed topic on this forum. If you search "sink covers" you can find these various threads. It seems that the ones that match the countertop have variously been included by GD / included by the dealer / offered for sale through the parts department.

I do have a related question . . . has anyone actually experienced the cover pieces "jumping out of the sink" while underway ? We have bounced down some really rough interstates and ours have stayed where we left them . . . covering the sink.

Rob

Rob, yes ours bounced out on a very rough patch of I 95. Will store under sink while moving from now on.

Hi TENN22,

Thanks for the first hand experience. I guess we have been lucky !
Ours will go under the sink or in a drawer from now on.

Rob

Really strange why they wouldn't ship every single RV with the sink covers. Even my old Springdale TT came with sink covers and I did ask about them at my PDI and was told they were not included on the sales order from GD. Seems trivial but little things like that are actually big points. I'll check with my dealer and see what is offered. If I can get those that match I'll order them but that doesn't change my opinion that they should be included. Almost like having to pay extra to get doors on the cabinets.

Ours bounced off and damaged the floor vinyl a bit. Using a vinyl repair kit we were able to fix it. Now we store the sink covers when traveling. I wanted the sink covers but honestly I could easily live without them. We only ever use one and the other is permanently stored. In our 337 there's adequate counter space without them. We use one to cover dirty dishes in the sink until they are washed.

Two Pieces? Mine is a one piece. There certainly is no consistency to these things, which seems to prove they are a dealer supplied product and not from GD.

I have been on some pretty rough roads in my Solitude and my sink covers have never gone anywhere we even have a clock hanging on the wall that we have forgotten to remove before we travel and it has never gone anywhere, there must be a difference in the suspension between the Reflection line and the Solitude, everything always seems to be right where we leave it

We have not run the Baja 1000 with our 303 but our 2 matching sink counter top covers have stayed put even on some pretty rough roads maybe better than my uncles dentures !

Dan

@ Longshot- Keep in mind, ours is a TT not a 5'er, so that may explain some of the difference. But, I would also add, that on our most recent trip through South Carolina on I95, that is some of the roughest roads I have been on. We assume due to the recent winter weather, salt, and the fact it is a sectional concrete road, with no two sections remotely even with each other. Plus the sink cover we have is most certainly an after market, as it is a 5/8' piece of black plastic, that is very light.

I75 coming south from Detroit sure felt "Baja" like :) . . . and our matching sink covers stayed in place. We move a lot, so packing them away every time will be a bit of a pain. Someone mentioned securing them with painter's tape (I think this is masking tape ?). This could be a simple compromise.

Rob

Rob--my wife says painters tape is that blue colored tape --she has used about 3000 miles of it in our last 35 years !

Read your reply to my wife . . . LOL from both of us !
Her further comment . . . why do we carry these things anyway ? The first thing we do when setting up, is take them out of the sink and put them somewhere else. Maybe . . . there is a logic to GD not including these "traditional" accessories in their RVs which have lots of other counter space.
