Slide bound up

My wife and I were packing up from a trip and when we retracted the slide out, the side towed the rear came in at an excessive angle and even hit the ceiling. Furthermore, the corner of the roof that’s outside when extended took some damage. Has any one else had this issue? Any help in pointing me in the right direction for roof repair and where to look to fix the slide travel appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Also, it’s a 2022 Grand Design Transcend Xplor 265 BH

I would just Eternabond tape that roof edge

Can’t help you with the slide mechanism
I assume it is a rack and pinion and I don’t know how they connect underneath

My guess is that the slide gears on racks slipped multiple teeth, possibly the top set, causing lower portion of slide to come in farther than upper section. You may find, when looking at top of slide from outside camper, that top of slide is not all the way closed. If so, racks and gears may need to be replaced. Once damaged, even with gears retimed on rack, I suspect that gears will slip easier than in reasonable condition.

If slide hit something on lower part, on the way out, the lower rack could be damaged/slipped.

With slide in you likely can see rack teeth condition on one end of racks and with slide out the other end of rack. Top racks may have more damage.

Top set?
Are you thinking this is a Schwintek system?
It is a rack and pinion system on the 265

Looking at the basic set up, i would guess ether bent rail or the outer arm disconnected on the far side

One thing I learned from the hardway is that you never apply grease, wd40 or any other substance to the slideout tracks. It will make them slip and cause you problems such as shutting down. Also, check out the fuses for the slide out if it stops..based on it happened to me. Hope it works out for you.
