Slide noise

The slides on my 303rls make this loud banging noise as the slide goes in, I confirmed it’s not something stuck, but maybe a lubrication issue? Pretty annoying I have corrected the floor scraping issue, but this seems like something to do with the rack and pinion?
When the slide is completely in you can hear the clutch noise which seems normal, has anyone got a fix for this issue?
Thanks, 😀

Assume this is a through-frame slide---
did you use dry lube on the gears/tracks?

Dry lube has been applied to the exposed areas and I have wiped the slide seals. I will pull the coroplast off at some point this winter and see how it looks underneath. Seems the lube isn’t getting all the way inside?

Just had my slide repaired for the same clunking sound as yours... inspecting the slide I noticed the tracks were worn and some metal shavings... As I was in the area I took it to the Lippert repair shop in Goshen... They replaced both fore & aft slide tracks ... The slide now works fine. It does clunk once when the seal flips... Also for the 1st time since new it no longer has a gap when closed.... I take some of the blame since we boondock a lot and I didn't always level the 5th wheel as good as I should... Since the skills of RV Techs vary greatly I would try to find a shop that has done this job more than once.. The folks at Lippert were great to deal with... Cost $2060... Time about 4 hrs.... I took a hard look at Vroom system, but the window placement in the aft wall of the slide made impactable for me....

We found one of slides on our 390rk-r was making a noise when opening it up. Called a mobile RV tech and found that the slide had settled down and sitting tight on top of the wall. It has to be lifted. BTW, extended warranty does cover this.

Loud noise sounds more like a mechanical issue than lubrication. CRC has Teflon but is not a dry lube if you used it and will attract dirt and cause issues down the road. Search on lubrication on this forum for the many discussions.

Ensure that a full sync is done on occasion. Stopping and holding button for 5 seconds when slide stops is good but not a full sync. swintek slide sink video Grand design - Search Videos

Inspect slide drive system as close as reasonable--see Lippert and other videos. Are you seeing excessive rack wear/damage or gear slip? Did floor scraping issue cause some rack or shoe damage? Are racks and slide assembled properly--there is a Lippert troubleshooting document.

The OP has through the frame slide systems, not Schwintek.
