Slide out noise. Is it normal?

While operating the slides on my reflection, not the schiwntek but the others. The mechanism emits a loud clicking sound at it reaches the fully extended or retracted positions. Is the noise I hear normal? and what exactly is making this noise?

That noise is normal. At least it is on my Sundance. Haven't taken delivery of our Solitude yet. Kind of like your gas cap on your car. Turn it too far and it clicks too.

If it is a Solitude with hydraulic slides, then no, not normal.

If it is a Reflection with electric slides, then yes, it is normal.

Hi @titrtyca - please contact your dealer or us (using the phone number in my signature below) if you are missing a Lippert Owner Manual. Their owner manual - and ours - contains information on the slide system and how it operates.

If you've not already done so, please contact your dealer for a service appointment to have the loud clicking noise you mention checked out. I can't advise if what you're hearing is normal or not without a RV tech inspection of your unit.

Sorry, didn't think of that. My Sundance has electric slides.

It is a Reflection as I mentioned in the original post. If this is normal what exactly is making this noise?

Just a word of caution - none of us can tell you with certainty via the forum if the loud noise you described is normal. We can only advise that it can be normal to hear some noise when operating the slide system. It sounds like you are experiencing the ratcheting action when the slide is fully extended or retracted.


Is it a series of loud clicks?
