Slide Toppers

Our 2019 295RL model year did not come with an awning on the living room slide. I believe they added that on the 2020 or 2021 and beyond years. In any case, the Solara Toppers attach with a (approx) 3" tall x 6" wide rectangular plate just under the black metal slide trim piece on both upper slide corners. If your awning sits in that area when retracted, it might be to close to mount the topper mounting plates in the corners (keep reading on).

However, the topper mounts are fairly flat (approx 1/8" thick) steel, and you might be able to install the topper mounts between the retracted awning and the slide. Would think if you could mount the topper that way you should be able to put both out without any issue.

Would recommend calling Solara and ask that same question. If they say its will work, would mount a thin piece of rubber on the back (slide wall) side of the awning roll up covers on both ends for resting against the topper mounting plates - for rattle noise and protection.

Hope that gives you some insight.

Thanks very much, I’ll give Solara a call. I’m getting a bit too old to be climbing ladders to sweep the slide outs every time we move.

Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on having one slide topper installed by the dealer on a Reflection 100 series 22rk?

Also - if I ask to have a slide topper installed, is there a particular type of topper or fabric/material I should ask for?

Will you supply the topper, or have the dealer supply it? I've had good luck with the Solera brand of toppers. Price will depend on size, but the dealer should be able to install one for around $200-$250. Less than that if you're buying the trailer from them and having it installed before you take possession. Price for a 10' topper should be less than $150, for example.

I really believe it matters where you live. Car dealers in the PNW are charging over $300/hr, independents $230/hour. Our gas is $4.80/Reg and our minimum wage is shooting to $20/hr.

It's really best to call your local RV dealer. Beware of the low ball estimates. Considering they might be drilling into your rig, what might be cheap now will be terribly expensive tomorrow. I would look for a place that has been around a long time.

Does anyone know the size of the slide on the reflection 22rk? I can't seem to find it in the specs and I didn't think to measure it when I viewed one on the lot.

Also - any thoughts regarding color or fabric? I'm thinking white for keeping the slide cooler, but I rarely see white ones on rigs when I'm out camping, so maybe there is a downside I'm not considering?
