Had a seriously impulsive day yesterday and came home with this guy

He is just shy of 3 months old, English Cream Golden Retriever. A young family got him 2 weeks ago and one of their kids had quite the allergy so they had to re-home him. Their loss for sure, not only is he cute as hell but he appears to be quite smart.

It's been over 15 years since we have had a puppy. I woke up this morning to a puppy yap to go out. Now we need to come up with a name. He was called Casper but I'm not wild about it, just doesn't roll of the tongue for me. He doesn't respond to it so he may not like it either.

Belle is not exactly thrilled but we're working on it, it's not even 24 hours we've had him.

Cute guy! Congratulations. Around here, we'd name him Goetze after the Caramel creme candy with that coloring!

Beauty!

We lost our dogs 2.5 years ago. First time in forever we haven’t had them. We delayed thinking we’d be on the road more, but my mother-in-law has had health challenges that have kept us closer to home. We have had Shelties for many years. Our last pair had spent most of their lives as outdoor dogs, but they took to traveling and camping like it was what they were born for. We are tempted often to get dogs.

Enjoy your new friend. It will own your hearts before you know it!

We lost Skye in April, we wavered about getting another knowing Belle would be a challenge at first. Then I saw his ad with a picture.. that all went out the window. Belle wasn't thrilled yesterday, today she's calmer and only growled once and went to the crate with curious sniffing. I think all will be ok in a week or so.
Something I thought was an interesting coincidence is he shares a birthday (except the year of course) with Skye who is the one we lost in April.

Making it 2 plus years is amazing, we went a year after one passes and I hated not having a dog. Then we ended up with our first pair of Aussies !

So Cute Marcy - we had our weak moment on our way home from a 7,000 mile trip through Chattanooga last Sep. He was 20 minutes from our prior nights stay at Kentucky Lake. 500 Miles on the following Monday up to Big Sandy.

We lost our (DW's dog!) mix male heeler-german shepherd the year prior so she was looking for puppies the entire 70 day trip - kept it a secret too. I wondered why she was on her phone the entire trip:) 14 yo heeler-mix sister is not happy after a year. Didn't see much of Chattanooga. Now I'm afraid to go back!

Very cute. As someone with VERY large goldens in the family, he will take up a fair bit of space in the RV when he's full-grown...

There are tons of Bailey's out there just like tons of Belle's
I came up with Yeti this afternoon. he's going to be big and white! And it's easier to say than Sasquatch :) But nothing is in stone yet

Beautiful Pup. A name will come with time. Our past dogs always seemed to name themselves in short order. Last one was Taz (as in Tasmanian devil - he lived it, believe me!).

Daddy's head (and build) look more like a Great Pyrenees. If there's any of that in there, look out!!!

Rob

That was my first impression but Dad is papered I was able to go back 5 generations and the pup also has papers that haven't been filed yet. Couldn't find much on Mom yet, she was more of a average sized Golden

Beautiful Golden.

I have to agree with Rob, large goldens do take up a lot of space. Mine was 15 lbs when we got him and he grew to 112 lbs (he's down to 95 now). In our old camper, he slept under the bed, in the bathroom, and in the hallway...all three at the same time! When we went shopping for a new coach, the selection criteria included where he was going to sleep - he now has his own place under the foot of the bed.

I'm a real sucker for Golden Retrievers, so I'd give one whatever space he or she needs just to have them along for the trip.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

In order for the pup to be papered, BOTH parents need to be papered.

I'm aware of that. Both are papered AKC. I have all that's needed to file with AKC if we choose to. We did that with Koda (a few Aussies ago) He was a riot and registered as Koo Coo Koda the Coo came to be because I didn't like his initials being KKK

Very cute pup Marcy. It's amazing how short the time is that they can wrap you around their paws and have you trained, and suddenly you realize....who the boss really is! LOL!
