So we had a weak moment that will last for years

This my golden. IMG_6060.jpg Allie

Congratulations on a beautiful pup! Goldens are my favorite breed. Easy to train. Eager to please their humans. Happy disposition. So much to like. I like the lighter color Goldens as well.

Here's our Luna the day we got her (4 years ago)

She's a cutie, I heard Goldens color ends up being the color of their ears so is Luna slightly more red as an adult?

We have decided on Zues for a name

ours will likely never see snow unless we stop snowbirding... Or is that Sunbirding. We're in Fl more than north.
But he does love the big water dish as a swimming pool. So my money is on Brohard Beach as our new beach destination in Fl.
Being young made the food transition super easy we're transitioning him off kibble and on to the home food a blend of raw and lightly cooked. His poops are already firming up from the mushy kibble poo. If anything we saved him from a life of eating kibble.
And of course Zeus came with a huge open bag of Pedigree, rescues don't want open bags so it's looking for a home. Likely put it on one of the local free sites

You're right. Their color matches more of their ear color. Here's a picture of Luna today at the campground we're at.

Puppy bonding begins!!!

Amazing progress with acceptance from Belle !!! After only 3 days being with Zeus , this weekend she was initiating outdoor play with Zeus..he shied away slightly because Belle was a little rough. Little does she know he will be bigger than her in another month or 2. The can be together in the same room with very little issue. They are going to be great together in no time! what more can we ask for (other than total housebreaking)

You are making me jealous!

I’m sitting in my shop with an empty, muddy rug next to me where our dogs used to nap in front of the fan or heater when I was working on things. The fact it’s still there should tell you I’m a huge softy, especially when it comes to dogs! The fact that after more than 2 years I still occasionally check it before I walk to the cabinet that’s just past it might tell you I’m a little soft in the head.:D

Have you gone the whole 2 years with no dog? The longest I have ever made it was 1 year and that was out of respect for Gary not being ready for a new pup... Then I lost it and came home with a puppy, Gary got over it after a few days , Shadow lived 17yrs and to this day is one of the best dogs we have had.

Fortunately two of the kids live next door to each other and just around the corner and have 7 dogs between them that we visit often. Daughter’s Rottweiler thinks she’s a lap dog and loves to visit us.

Had we known we were going to be home so much, we’d have probably taken the plunge already, but we had no idea of the surprise health challenges my mother-in-law would face. Hit by a truck, insane kidney stone issues and then a broken hip in spite of excellent bone density. She keeps bouncing back and is too active and healthy (she fell at age 88 and broke her hip while getting her weed eater ready to trim her yard after she mowed) for assisted living, but has needed us around.

Had a seriously impulsive day yesterday and came home with this guy

He is just shy of 3 months old, English Cream Golden Retriever. A young family got him 2 weeks ago and one of their kids had quite the allergy so they had to re-home him. Their loss for sure, not only is he cute as hell but he appears to be quite smart.

It's been over 15 years since we have had a puppy. I woke up this morning to a puppy yap to go out. Now we need to come up with a name. He was called Casper but I'm not wild about it, just doesn't roll of the tongue for me. He doesn't respond to it so he may not like it either.

Belle is not exactly thrilled but we're working on it, it's not even 24 hours we've had him.

Awesome!! A new fur baby!! Enjoy ?

Our weak moment was a year ago January when we got to Myrtle Beach Travel Park. Our miniature poodle had died two months prior so first trip without him. Met a micro Goldendoodle at the RV park and fell in love with him. Owners were from near where I grew up in upstate NY. They told us about the breeder from near Rochester, NY. Of course went on their website and there were two siblings left with a go home date of 2/4/23. Mind you that Rochester is 14 hours from Myrtle Beach. After talking to the breeder, she had a delivery of another sibling outside of Washington, DC (only 7 hrs) and would deliver these to that location free of charge. Needless to say, we ended up with our two, Gibbs and Abby. They are supposed to be nominal 20 lbs. Abby is 21 lbs, but Gibbs is now 41! They are confirmed siblings by doggie DNA, and are a cousin to the trouble maker dog we met at MBTP!

That's a cute pair of pups! Double trouble! I recall when we got the 2 Aussie girls at the same time in 2020... You get quite the workout and they were 6 mos apart in age.

I just love the fact that Zeus has an off switch, something I haven't experienced since our first Aussie.
