I have a 2022 Reflection 280RS, what exactly is the purpose of the soft start?

Generally speaking a soft start will lessen the inrush of current to a more reasonable level when a device starts, usually an air conditioner compressor. It may drop the initial amperage draw from 40 amps down to 15 amps. That would allow a person to run an air conditioner with a smaller generator than what would be possible with a initial draw of higher amperage.
