Hi GD technical. Thank you for your help on this forum. I have a couple of questions. Concerning the Furrion solar packages. There are a couple offered by Furrion. Could GD elaborate on which solar pkg. is being used on the 2015's? Also, I have a 2015 385 TH which I think has the wiring for solar up to the front bulkhead of the trailer with a wirenut. Could GD provide a wiring diagram for the solar set-up for this rig? Last question. I saw the solar bulkhead plug on the Furrion website. I was astonished at the price on $599.00. Is this true or did I misread their website. If the plug is that price, what is the dealer pricing for this plug?

Hey apulido,

Been conducting research on the solar equipment for the 385TH. I saw that some of the newer grand design models were being delivered with the solar electrical plugs on the front generator bulkhead wall. Want to upfit my 2015 385TH with the same electrical fitting etc. Looks like wiring for a solar plug was provided on my 385TH up to the bulkhead and terminated with a wire nut. Would be good to have the solar pkg to camp in the state parks without electric and be reliant totally on the generator.

Hello Frabar69, I have the generator on my 355TH 2014. I have plans to do some boon docking in the south western US, I thought about the solar package simply as a back up system to my generator. Some campgrounds have quite hours where you can not run the generator they do not have 30 or 50 amp power source. The solar power package will be an option to use. I also plan on getting a second 12volt battery put in.

Hi @frabar69,

Thank you for getting back to us! Beginning last Fall we started installing a Furrion solar panel plug-in on our bulkheads. This is a fused direct wire feed to the batteries. The solar panel is not offered from Grand Design, but can be purchased from your dealer or through the Furrion website. The corresponding recommended 95W portable solar power charging system is Furrion item # FSPP95SA-BL. Here is a link to the Furrion specifications: http://furrion.com/us/lanotattachments/download/file/id/111/store/3/. If you have further questions please contact your dealer, or Furrion at tollfree (888) 354-5792 (US only).

Best regards,
~ Janice
