I'm looking for some help in the dimensions of the king mattress. The original mattress that comes with these units is HORRIBLE!! I have tried measuring the angles but I don't think I have them correct. Does anyone have the correct dimensions for the king mattress so we can have one custom made.

The problem that we have with a regular mattress is ours is right up against the bulkhead and it has a radial corner. Regular mattresses have a huge gap and hang way off the end. But thank you!

The mattress I suggested is an RV King not a residential. It is 4 inches shorter than a residential and fits in our reflection just fine.

Good luck with your choice, it is an important one.

You shouldn't have to get a custom made mattress. I'm fairly certain GD did not have a mattress designed to fit any of their trailers. The RV king should be just what you need.

The Solitude 3550 has a radial cut across the top. The rv king won't go all the way in so there will be a sizeable gap between the mattress and the wall, and it will hang off quite a bit at the end.

I think a picture would help sec what you are talking about.

RV King is 4 inches shorter that Standard King.

You can see the one “corner” is rounded and the other has a slight angle. Our headboard is rounded because it’s right under the front window.

It is really odd they would design a mattress to fit one trailer, guess it falls in the what were they thinking category. Especially since the mattresses usually get replaced. You may have to call GD for the specs on that mattress.

Hope you get it figured out quuickly

Older post, but new owner of a 21 3550bh. We had an insert fabricated that squares off the front wall and use a standard residential mattress. No more pillows falling into the gap…. Choose your mattress first an fabricate the filler about 1” lower than the mattress.
