Driving West on I-90 between Buffalo, NY and the PA State line today, I saw this Rockwood Ultra Light. Ratchet straps were holding the walls upright. it looks like there was a fight with a low bridge and the bridge won!

Oh no, what a way to ruin a trip. And wallet.

Ouch ! That's going to take a lot of Eternabond, Dicor, and caulk. Hopefully the fridge is keeping the beverages cold.

Well....they still have their water heater.

Think insurance will total it????

Oh man! Peeled the roof and rear wall clean off! Brutal. The bridge or canopy got the upper hand. I tried to help a 5er owner while up at Seneca Lake this weekend who shaved his front air conditioner off on a fuel island canopy. He was not receptive, and ended up causing more damage to rig and canopy... All he needed to do was let the air out of his TV's rear wheels and back out, but...

Good on you....some people just let their ego get in the way despite help knocking on the door.

Ego, or anger, but in any case you tried. Me in the situation of the person in trouble? I'll listen just because I'll be so damned depressed about it. I may do it my own way, but I'll listen!

I can relate. My 2019 28BH was 4 months old when I was rear ended. Four months in a repair shop and a $16,000 bill to the other drivers insurance company and I had it back. Luckily, I found a really good repair shop that specialized in heavy/complicated RV repairs on the west side of Phoenix. They were not an RV dealer so I was not competing against RV's in for warranty work and shop time. The entire back wall had be replaced. The accident happened after the 28BH changed to the current bunk room setup but Grand Design was able to make a replacement back wall. The repair shop made it look good again.

Is this what happens when you put a bike rack on your rear bumper?:)

My wife and I were driving down an interstate when we came up on a large RV, I do not recall the brand. Anyhow it was on fire rising up from a wheel well halfway up the side. We sped up to their truck and motioned back, and they thought we were saying hello and they happily waved. Then they put on the brakes and pulled to the shoulder. At this point the RV was being engulfed. A heavy duty state highway service truck pulled up, so we kept on our way. I am 100% certain that the RV burnt to the ground. Hopefully they were able to disconnect and save their truck. Another great reminder to me to touch the hubs often to detect heat buildup before a failure.

That is what happens when one does not properly maintain their bearings... Things can get so hot that the fire in the wheel well can spread to the inside of the RV. And i the first shot of the RV being held together, that is what happens if you flip one. It will fall apart, regardless of brand. Because of improper wheel packing, I lost a hub and wonder how the wheel stayed on. Was lucky it did not catch fire. Ended up coming home with a different RV since Dexter was going to take fourteen weeks to get us a new axle. They would have to build it and ship it to us via long-haul freight... Expensive trip! Lesson learned, find a good mechanic or do the bearings yourself....stay away from Camping World!

I will remember this picture when I see that sweet used TT at a sweet to good to be true price with a salvage title.
