Planning our first big trip with our new Momentum TH 381 from Indiana to Rafter J RV park in July. Would like to have any input on places to see besides the obvious Mt Rushmore. We will be taking our Street Glide along and plan on riding some of the amazing roads like Needles Highway. Any insight on places to go or things to expect would be great! Thanks

Here's a recent thread on the Black Hills with some feedback which should be of interest:

The Black Hills and related topics have come up a number of times over the years on this forum with folks sharing really good feedback. If you search on words of interest to you like Black Hills, Rushmore, Needles, etc. you will find some great informative threads and posts.

Anything specific, just lets us know and there are many of us who have been there several times, once and anything in between. Enjoy your trip.

The Crazy Horse Monument is a must see. While you should see Mt Rushmore and is amazing in it's own right, Crazy Horse is much more impressive and is close to Mt Rushmore so don't overlook it. If you go taking the short guided bus ride to the base of the monument is well worth it for a different perspective and to fully appreciate the scope of the monument as the bus stops to let the passengers out to walk around, take photos etc. A trip to Custer State Park is also worth a visit. It is a beautiful park and an opportunity to see Buffalo herds. Reptile Gardens in Rapid City, SD is an impressive collection of reptiles and birds. Another consideration is Bear Country USA - Drive Through Wildlife Park also in or near Rapid City. Finally for film buffs there is a set for Dancing With Wolves on the outskirts of Rapid City.
