So I was asked where I got the map in my signature for states visited. I did it here:
https://www.epgsoft.com/visited-states-map/app/

I don't see an option in the forums profile settings to upload a signature picture, so I saved it on Photo Bucket and added the link to my signature.

This post may be a good candidate for a sticky post so it stays at the top of the board for all new comers to the forum.

Help! :-\

I followed your instructions and added my map to Photo Bucket and then got lost as to what link I should use. When I use the Photo Bucket URL for that map photo in my signature line the photo didn't appear only the text of the URL.

What am I doing wrong?

Kathy,

In Photobucket, when you're looking at the photo, along the top there are several buttons for sharing, like Facebook, Twitter, etc. One button looks like to two links of a chain. Click that and it provides several types of links. Copy the one titled "IMG Codes (for forum boards)".

The link has to be inside the tag to be displayed. So the forum will display an example, I changes the brackets (e.g. - [ and ]) for the tags to asterisk (*).

*IMG*http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m187/laffman2/th_1389188045.jpg*/IMG*

Chris also mentioned that he is upgrading the forum to vBulletin software, which does have a signature picture upload option. Hopefully, Chris will enable this option when he switches to the software.

:-\ I followed your instructions but instead of a map only the actual link surrounded by *IMG* shows in my profile. Guess I'll have to wait for Chris to change forum software to add the map.

Kathy,

This is what it should look like.

:-[ DUH!!!

Tim... I was taking you literally and replacing the brackets surrounding IMG with *! The map has now appeared in my profile but it's much too big. I'll have to go back to PhotoBucket and see if I can reduce it.

Big thanks for walking me through this process.

So a question for all of you. What do you consider "states visited"? Do you mean in your lifetime, or where you've taken an RV in your lifetime, or your current RV?

I'm thinking it would be where I've taken an RV, whether with my current rig or not.

Jim... I just put up our maps and they indicate all of the places we've been to in our former FW. We will be taking delivery of our new Solitude next weekend so I had to use past trips for the maps.

I only filled in the states I've visited with the RVs I've owned, not states I've been to in my life.

When I do ours it will be states visited in any RV. Our other choices are states visited in RV where we played ham radio or states visited in RV where our Golden retriever has been swimming (24).

One of the advantages of working for govt intel and security is I've been in every state many times (most of Europe and Asia and many other countries) so mine is only the states I visited in an RV (I've owned several). 'Course, getting old also helps.

I notice you haven't been to California, that is a good one to stay out of unless you have a diesel truck, it's the only state I have been in where diesel is cheaper than gas.Go figure ---:)

Wow, where in California did you go where diesel was cheaper than gas? Not around SoCal at least I've not see it at local stations.

We took 2 different trips, one in Oct.2012 ,came through from the north on I 5 south to Sacramento and the other was April this year from the south end through Needles up to Modesto,Ca. On both trips diesel was higher than gas and gas was bad enough, at one place in the south between Needles and Barstow we paid $4.56 for regular.

Are there a minimum number of posts required before an image can be linked to in the signature? I followed the directions as stated above but it just shows the link.
