States visited map in signature

A lot of you talk about updating your maps. Is it really an update to your existing map or do you start all over? Also, I wonder if I should count a state if I have only driven through it without actually camping in it.

I believe you make a whole new one and replace the old one.

We had that discussion, and our choice was the state isn't highlighted unless we've camped in it.

Thanks to this Thread I finally got my States map in my signature. With this post I will see if it shows up. Can anyone explain why my profile picture doesn't show up. I am a site sponsor.

Hello Everyone,
I think I messed something up in adding the map to my signature. It appears that I also have the headings from the website. I'm a bit technologically challenged...is there anybody that can help me fix this so that I just have the map?
Thanks,

Jim... I would think that the Map should be for the states you have visited WITH your RV. (current RV or previously)

Just my thoughts...

I too would like that Map ... very cool. One day when I get time... :)

Dave

Are you asking about your "profile picture" (the one that's visible when you go to your profile page? Or your "avatar" (the one that visible on your posts). There's a difference.

Agreed - we say we must have spent the night to include a state. i'm pretty sure this has been discussed previously with, as expected, varying opinions.

When we did our long trip out west we made a slight detour so we could spend the night in North Dakota rather than skipping that state and probably never getting back there. :) We were glad we did as we found some nice places to visit.

If we have traveled through a state with our current GD or either of our other 3 campers, I include those on our map. I don’t think there is any steadfast rules on that, just personal preference.

On my map I would have to delete only 2 states listed if we went by the rule of having to camp in a certain state.

I think everyone has different rules on it. For us we add a state sticker to our map if we camped and experience something in a state. For us this lifestyle is about experiencing the different things each place has to offer, so just passing through isn't enough for us!
