States visited map in signature

Hi Dave,

It took a few tries but I finally got it. Here is what I did step by step:

1. Go to https://visitedstatesmap.com and check all of the states that apply.
2. Select Map Size. The one in my signature is Small.
3. Click Draw Map
4. Hi-lite the text in the Copy and Paste Image URL: box and copy it.
5. Go to the Grand Design Owners Forum page and in the upper right corner click on Settings.
6. On the left side scroll down to Edit Signature
7. Move the curser to where in your signature you would like the image to appear.
8. In the second row of icons, 4th or 5th from the right is one that says Insert Image. Click it.
9. Paste the URL that you copied in step 4 here.
10. In the lower right corner click Preview Signature. If you like it click Save Signature.

Hope this helps!

Mark

There seem to be two schools of thought on that. Some, like us, fill in a state if you've set up and camped there. Others are ok with just having driven through it. There's no right or wrong here, do what seems right for you.

Let me see if I got it ok

It worked. These are places we have spent at least 3 nights in. It only took us 7 years of full time rv'ing to get it done.

Seeing all of these maps with so many states filled in makes me feel like an RV newb - even though I've been at it off and on for over 30 years - lol.
To be honest, I've never even camped outside of Michigan. Most of our camping has been to the same couple campgrounds, all within 50 miles of home - lol.
Now that I'm retired, as much as I'd love to go camping out west or down south, I'd first like to "tour" the campgrounds of Michigan.
The fact of the matter is that even if the wife and I went full time, I doubt I have enough years left in me to even see all of the campgrounds here in Michigan - lol.
I surely do envy those of you who are so well traveled.

I wonder if I could find a map of Michigan and just color in the counties we camp at....

That's a pretty good idea, we do have a high number of campgrounds here. It would be a colorful map for sure. I think it's something like 102 state parks and who knows how many State Forest cGs there are. Then throw in federal CGs and private parks and you could camp in MI for ever. You can tour MI in the summer and tour the south in the winter. We leave in October and take in some fall colors along the path south landing in FL some time in Nov

Here is one you can play with

We’re from Colorado but have family in Michigan. We have pulled the RV back East a number of times and we just love Michigan. You have such nice campgrounds (ok not crazy about the condition of your highways). We’ve stayed on the western shore, eastern shore, near Lansing and at mackinaw city (forgive me if I misspelled that). We crossed over on the Badger Ferry with our RV (watching that guy back our fifth wheel into that ferry was humbling). Your campgrounds are beautiful and so well equipped compared to what we’re used to out here (a public campground with full hookups is a rarity in these parts). I envy you having time now to discover your beautiful country. We, too, have fallen into the trap of going to the same places that are comfortable and familiar. Break out and look around, you won’t be sorry.

Harry are you asking if your map is showing?
If so, is not. There are instructions on the forum others have posted - here are some more.

1. Go to the Grand Design Owners Forum page and in the upper right corner click on Settings.
2. On the left side scroll down to Edit Signature
3. Toward the bottom of the page is where you find the signature image uploader. "Uplad Signature Picture".
4. You would click "Choose File" under: Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer:
5. Once choose the map file on your computer click it.
6. At the top right of the Signature Picture section (Below Edit Signature) you will see "Insert Signature Picture" - click this.
7. In Edit Signature you should see
8. Save Signature.

Good luck
