Has anyone installed the Steady Fast system to stop the "wiggle" when the rig is set up on a site? Research is promising and the design makes a lot more sense, in terms of eliminating or minimizing movement, than anything else I've seen. There are two places in the bottom of the frame that require bolt holes being drilled. Would that void any warranty or is that a question for the frame manufacturer? Any guidance or shared experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had the SteadyFast system on our last camper, a Rockwood 5th wheel and was very satisfied with the system. I've kept that set-up and will be installing it come warmer weather. I can't answer whether it voids the frame warranty or not.

Hi @Tumbleweeds, Dave (@Happy Camper),

The frame warranty is covered by Lippert, and therefore any modifications or additions to their frame should be discussed with them directly regarding any possible impact on warranty coverage. Their Customer Service team can be reached at (574) 537-8900.

Best regards,
~ Janice

Thanks Janice. LCI will probably tell us that SteadyFast would void their frame warranty but JT Strong Arm stabilizers (that they sell) are the only system that doesn't! :p

I've installed the Steady Fast stabilizer system from our old camper unto our 337. I had to do some modification of the foot for the rear bar so it would clear the spare tire when the rear gear are retracted. The camper feels much more solid with the Steady Fast stabilizers in place.

Dave - so did you just have to replace the stock foot pad with the Steady Fast foot pad or were there more modifications you had to make for the spare tire clearance? I have the Steady Fast on my soon to be traded in Avalanche and I am sure I will want to put the SteadyFast on the Reflection also. It really made a big difference on the Avalanche.

All I had to do was drill another set of holes in the foot for the 1 1/2" U bolts that fit up inside the tube and the hitch pin goes through, so the foot is 1 1/2" further forward than normal. I had to enlarge an existing hole at the toe end to mount the bar-end swivel. The bar clamp bracket is mounted 1 1/2" behind the rear shackle on the opposite frame rail.

It seems from comments I've read on other forums that they all are good at reducing camper movement. The reason I chose Steady Fast initially was the ease of installation and the simplicity of only 3 bars for the stabilizing the whole camper.

Hi Dave,

In the first picture, are the bolts self tapping into the frame or do they have nuts on the top? If nuts, how did you get them on the inside bolts?

Yes...the brackets are attached to the frame with self-tapping bolts. SteadyFast also supplies the drill bit required...a good one too as I've installed the system twice now.

Dave

I have to second what Dave said - I installed my Steadyfast from my old Avalanche and used the same drill bit. There is still a lot of life left in it. Really like the Steadyfast and the simplicity of it. I had to drop my spare tire a little bit, hold it towards the back a little bit, and then crank the tire back up in order to get enough clearance for the cross bar to have enough clearance. I don't think there is consistency on the tire installation but it wasn't a big deal.

Do you know if this system will work on our 379FL with the Level UP system as the feet don't look like they can be replaced,Thanks

I just installed the JT Strongarms on my 303 a few days ago and now we are sitting in it camping at Jalama Beach here in California. My wife has said it is night and day. I have to agree. The install on the landing legs was a breeze but on the rear stabilizer jacks, it takes a little figuring out. Don't expect Lippert to help with any advice because they were clueless. I went with the JTs because it is now Lippert owned so how can they deny a warranty claim, right?
The set up was a breeze! Level it all out and then snug the JTs up. My kids run thought he trailer sometimes and get up at night, now without waking me up! Well worth the 225.00 I paid which included shipping!

Hi Joe,

Could you post a picture or two of how the strong arm setup fits to the rear stabilizers on the 303 ?
I am planning exactly what you have accomplished and must admit that I can't see how this is going to fold up properly with the strong arms attached.

Thanks
Rob

Rob,
I'm so sorry! I did not get your message until after I dropped the 5er back off at my storage lot. I can get you pics in a few days.
To give you a heads up, the front four braces go on per the directions that come with the Strongarms. As for the rear, you will remove the center bolt that holds on the foot of the rear stabilizer and replace it with the 4" saddle bolts they supply. Here is the catch, the directions state to face the saddle towards the rear of the trailer. DO NOT DO THIS!
Instead, orient the saddle towards the front of the trailer.
Install the Strongarms on to each of the rear stabilizing feet. Collapse each Strong arm completely and raise the stabilizers completely. You will now notice that due to the design of the Lippert stabilizers, the supporting braces going fore and aft do not allow the JT Arms to mount towards the center of a cross beam. Instead, I mounted them similar to the front installation, located along the edge of the I beam frame 3/4" in from the outside edge. Installing it this way will collapse the JT Arms fully when retracted and the tightening t-bolt sits in a nice little pocket up top!
Wow! I better get you pics ASAP! Trust me.... The JTs are worth their weight in gold!

Joe

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the detailed info !
No big rush on this since I am a month away from getting back to my 303.
(We're back in Canada for Christmas . . . RV is waiting for us mid-Jan in Florida)
I am definitely looking forward to your pictures of how to do this right.

Rob

Hey Rob, we have dealer installed JTSA on our 303 as well and they work very very well. I can get pics in the next week if you need more in addition to those Joe plans to get to you. Our RV is stored indoors just a few miles from our home. Attached are a couple pics that if you zoom in on you can see the lower mounting location front and rear.
