Strobe lighting

I just installed my new Haloview BT7 backup and side mount cameras on my 2025 Grand Design Imagine XLS 23LDE today. When I turn off my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 truck, my trailer taillights on my trailer stay on like a. strobe light. The only way that I can stop it is to unplug the power from my truck to the trailer. Does anyone have any solutions to fix this?

Would check your 7 pin connection. Sounds like a grounding issue. Could also try some dialectic grease on the connectors too.

It’s a GM thing. Solution is to unplug it. The truck is still supplying some power to the trailer even when off. Don’t know if there’s a timer on that or if it’s indefinite. My previous 2022 and now 2024 trucks do this with Solitude and a previous Jayco.

I first came across this 3 years ago soon after I’d also found I needed an adapter between my truck and trailer for the camera to work due to wonky way GM supplies power through the 7 pin.

Was this always an issue? Or did it suddenly arise after you installed those cameras/lights?

If it is new since your installation it would be a good idea to check the wiring. Maybe unconnected one camera at a time and see what happens.

In the towing options, there’s an option on the GM trucks for trailer theft detection. If you have this selected it may be that. This is the system “talking” to the trailer to be sure there’s still a connection. This makes the brake lights flicker. Don’t know if it always does this or just with the option selected.

I did find out that it you have it selected on with the truck off, doors locked, etc, then pull the plug the horn will go off. That would be a fun surprise in a campground at night.

I do have that option on. I will try turning that off and see if it works thanks.
