Stupid question, do I need to carry a 2nd water hose?

We have two very flexible 5/8" Eco hoses from Walmart: a 50' and a 25'.

And we do screw the ends together when the trailer is in storage.

We always do to. My main reason was to not dribble water into the storage compartment...never thought about mold as the previous poster suggested..hmmm

I've screwed the hose ends together for over 25 years and never had any mold in my hoses. My inline filter gets attached directly to the water source so my hose stays as clean as possible... I do sanitize them at least once a year in a tub of bleach water just to keep the little woman happy.

I also carry two hoses for the black tank flush as well. Same reason. Often the extra hose is never taken out of the basement but when I need it, it is nice to have it available.[

Carrying a second black hose isn't really a necessity... there is no chance of cross contamination at the black water flush point in a GD RV. Read my explanationd on page 1 of this thread..

In addition to the black tank flush line's check valve, I add a back flow preventer directly to the splitter on the leg of the splitter that is used for flushing the black tank.
That gives me extra assurance that nothing from the black tank flush's hose, gets back into the splitter from that hose. I like the splitter's that each leg has it's own shut-off valve.

Like others have said, I carry 2 potable water hoses and have used both attached to each other at certain campgrounds.

I carry two of those expandable water hoses for cleaning the tanks. They pack up really small so they don’t take up much room.

You will eventually get gunk on your tank level sensors and it can take some effort to get them clean. Because of that, I am OCD about flushing the black tank just about every day when camping full hook up. Maybe not a full flush, but I keep them fairly clean.

I carry several different lengths of drinking water hoses. I have been at campgrounds that I need all of them. I also carry a 50' garden hose for flushing my black tank. I use a "Y" to connect the hoses to. My water pressure regulator go to the drinking water hoses.

I carry a 25' a 50' and a 75' Zero G hose for fresh water, and have stayed at campgrounds where I needed every foot. I also carry a 50 foot pocket hose for non potable water. ALL my potable water connections and accessories, fresh water fill connection, flush wands etc... are kept in a 5 gallon white food safe bucket, and all sewer connections are kept in an Orange 5 gallon bucket.
