Suspension shackles

Not sure if many of you read other forums but I spent some time on RV Dreams. In the last week a couple of full timers both had spring shackle failures. The shackles appear to be breaking next to one of the lower bolt holes. The replacements that they are utilizing appear twice the thickness of their old ones.

My question is, as we prepare to go full timing, has anyone had a failure on their Grand Designs? One of the failures was on a New Horizons and I'm not sure about the other, but I think both stated that their frame/ suspension was Lippert.

Which suspension system failed? I know we have had a few Momentums break shackles. Have not heard of any other models. May be due to the weight on the toy haulers.

Cent frum my sell phone so pleeze excuse my spelling and grahmar.

Over time, they can and will fail.

I am set to replace my shackles and bolts this year with the Mor-Ryde wet bolt kit.

Comes with bronze bushings and greasable shackle bolts.

Yes, the actual shackles are probably twice as thick as OEM.

Most likely the reason they failed is because the nylon bushings wore out. Once the bushings wear out, the bolts oval out the holes in the shackles then they break. Your trailer should have wet bolts in the suspension. If they're maintained properly I would think they should last for years.
I just greased my wet bolts. It doesn't look like they were ever greased at the factory or dealership. I plan to grease mine a couple of times a year.

Oddly enough I just finished this task two days ago. I changed all of my break assemblies out (long story) and also greased every item that had a grease fitting. My shackle bolts also looked as though they were never greased from the factory but then again I have had my 379fl for about a year and 4 months now.
