Well we signed up for a bring your own device T-Mobile plan. It’s 30GB for $10 a month (fees and taxes included) if you use auto pay.

You need to use an unlocked hotspot, we have a Netgear M1 (Amazon for $181 on sale). We signed up via chat on T-Mobile’s website. Two days later we got the sim.

Guess what? Every thing works. I was able to connect my Wyze camera, again works perfect.

The internal code (SOC) you need is MI30TI or MY30TE, thanks to the mobile internet resource canter.

If you have any questions please let me know as I was a bit skeptical. Now when we travel we have AT&T as our personal phones, Verizon as our work phones and T-Mobile for the hotspot.

Following.....

In all of the seasonal camping we did last year, we only rant into one campsite that we absolutely go zero phone service. We were camping at the highest point in the State of Alabama and zero service.....even though we had a cell tower right outside of our camping area.

We like the solitude, but this plan may be some that we can get into. Thanks for sharing!

"We were camping at the highest point in the State of Alabama and zero service.....even though we had a cell tower right outside of our camping area." I've noticed that, too. We were at one State Park that was literally right on an Interstate highway (the highway right-of-way abuts the Park land) and there are two cell phone towers right by the park entrance. Great cell phone service right up to where we cross into the park, then very little service. That has to be deliberate, but I don't know enough to know how it is done.

Interesting. I just looked and at home I used 33GB (total up and down load) for the entire day. This is with 8 Wyze cameras, 8 Lorex cameras, smart devices, my wife works from home and streaming services.

Remember this hotspot is only used for the camera and if our phones with Verizon and AT&T are non existent.

We also would only have the camera on when we step away from the camper. So if we need the camera for 2-4 hours a day and we are gone for a week I’m sure we will be within the limits of the plan.

Thanks for the FYI on usage.

Just because you can see a cell tower doesn't mean your service provider has an antenna on it.

Well we signed up for a bring your own device T-Mobile plan.

We were originally with Sprint and migrated to T-Mobile. We have a 50GB Hotspot on each phone and a Inseego Hot spot with 30 GB. During all the changes of the last 2 years we have been lucky. T-Mobile allowed us the keep the the free 50GB hotspot/phone, they swapped out our old Inseego with a newer 5G model and we were able to increase the 30GB to 100GB plan for $55/month.
We have had connectivity just about every where even up in Fort Payne Alabama and Unico State Park in Helen, Ga which is in a sort of fringe areas for their service.
We use mainly for entertainment and internet, (no work) and connect back to our home to keep an eye on our home (8 Amcrest Cams).
We also have an Cam & Wifi thermostat in the TT to keep an eye on our Pets while we are out and about
We have been out for 3 weeks at a time and have not used up all the data yet.
It does take a little bit of manipulation to manage but not that bad using a Slate Router as the network.
We use Norton for security they have VPN service and we also have an OpenVPN set back thru out home network server to try to stay internet safe. So far everything has been good.
Luckily we have a son in law which helped set all this up with free technical support Which make it a lot easier for us.
Hopefully T Mobile will not force us into any other plans overtime.
We also have ATT unlimited plan in our GMC thru Onstar Service for ($15/mth) we use while on the road.

I'll also add that being under a tower does not mean you have a signal. Their antennas are designed to send signal horizontally not direct them down. You could easily be in the shadow.

Guessing you were in Cheaha. Tower next to the observation tower. No signal right there but strong signal moving around the park. Just have to pick your spot.
