We have a 23LDE with a tankless water heater. I wanted to clean the water filter on it before starting the camping season but it seems very tight to unscrew, did not want it to break off as it is only plastic. is this serviceable at all?
Thank you.

While I've never attempted to clean mine, I'm unsure if it is needed. We filter the water coming into the coach, that may be enough.

We also filter all the water going in, might be one of those, if it isn’t brook don’t fix it things.
Thank you

It is a threaded plastic plug with an O-Ring seal. First time I pulled to help drain and winterize we had it partially blocked with plastic shavings from the unit build I assume. I simply use O-Ring grease on the O-Ring and don't install it as tight as the OEM did. I agree it was tough to get loose the first time. Think I used channel locks to break it loose the first time. Once properly greased it has not been an issue to remove. Nor has it had any debris build up on it.

You also have to be very careful to not overtighten when you replace. The o-ring is silicone, not rubber. If you overtighten (past the marked spot) you can crush/tear the o-ring and cause a pin hole leak that can be difficult to find. Ask me how I know...

Fortunately, new ones are cheap. But HD/Lowes don't carry the right size. You'll have to order one on Amazon.
