I have been sucked into the Blackstone ecosystem! I have purchased my third Blackstone griddle product. My first was the Blackstone Tailgater for camping which combines a gas grill with a small gas griddle/flat top. It works very well and I like the versatility it provides with the grill side. I recently purchased a 36" griddle for the patio in the sticks and bricks. Love that one and use it several times a week! We just purchased a 22" Adventure Ready griddle to replace the Tailgater.

After our last trip we realized the Tailgater was a bit much when it came to setting up and breaking down. It certainly was not something that could easily be used for an overnight stop. That kind of put a monkey wrench into the DWs menu plans. So we have purchased the 22" Adventure Ready to replace the Tailgater. It will now be much easier to get out of the truck and setup on the table or the stand it came with for a quick meal. Also many more fuel source options as it comes with the connector for the small 1 lb. bottles. It also came with the hose to connect to a larger propane tank. I just received the quick connect elbow so I will also be able to connect to the trailer propane port.

For podcast listeners, below is a link to a podcast from The Verge with the Blackstone CEO. He discusses when and how he started and their business model and how the business grows. To no surprise it is social media!

I've always said that cooking outside was the reason there are indoor kitchens. :)

But Peggy bought me a Blackstone griddle for my birthday and I find that I like using it out on the deck. So she bought a 17" to travel with. We
just got it yesterday and haven't seasoned it yet. I believe I will store it in the slideout where the TV used to be. Mostly breakfast to keep the
grease off the walls and the side of the fridge.

I think you'll enjoy it. We like to keep the grease and heat outside as well. And it seems like we don't dirty as many dishes with the griddle.

I agree about the dishes. Actually I think it's a conspiracy that Peggy masterminded to keep me doing the cooking. :)

We have the 22 inch model and it goes from patio to trailer and back again.
a 2nd Blackstone is in my near future.
A friend was telling me about a stainless model. Any of you guys have one?
Bob A.

I've seen some stainless griddles, but none were Blackstone. I have no idea if Blackstone makes any, but I would think not.

We've gone a different route... for just the 2 of us that routinely split a chicken breast or favor salads, the Blackstone has taken a back seat to the George Foreman Grill. I just plug it in outside on a table, grill some chicken or sausage or Beyond Burgers and very easy cleanup with removable plates. Works fantastic and is MUCH faster. Prolly be selling the Blackstone...

I started out last year with the 22" (was able to get the good deal for the whole set up from Walmart). Used it camping and hunting, along with day to day home use. The stand did have one of the leg tightening screws strip out so used a table for most uses. I have found out that as I get older gravity is getting stronger and did not feel like hauling the 22" grill around for camping/hunting so just purchased the 17" grill....less weight and I purchased a carrying bag for it. I have it all seasoned and the first trip with it starts next week. All in all have been very happy with the Blackstone products and look forward to using the new one. I can say it seemed the 17" seasoned much better than the 22" but I have learned a lot more in the past year. Good luck.

I totally agree about the ease of seasoning with the 17", it seemed to go better than our 22". I too have ours seasoned and packed. It fit
perfectly in the slide where the TV used to be. We took the TV out and put it in the garage, and the storage area was the perfect size. I
got a splitter to go on the tank and a 12' pigtail to go to the griddle. Should work a treat.

Great idea on the splitter, I have a Colman stove for coffee and water and using one bottle with the extended hoses would be a great set up. Thanks for the tip.

On my 28G, I took out the fridge on the out door kitchen and put in shelves, most of our camping is boondocking and I never use the fridge. Today I pulled out the 2 burner stove that came hooked to the door panel again on the outdoor kitchen. It did not generate a lot of heat so boiling water was a long event....thus the reason for the Colman stove, less weight and more heat and now I have more room on the fold down door for a light weight table. I like hearing stories about how folks have modified the out door area to make it work for them. Happy Camping!

So I attempted to season my new 22" yesterday. I was not successful. It was a little breezy out and I was using a 1# bottle. It didn't come close to getting hot enough.

This morning I moved the griddle to a wind protected spot and connected it to a 20# tank I use on my 36". Much, much better and a successful seasoning. It is now good to go.

Side note,. I cooked some salmon fillets on the 36" last night. 4 min per side. 375-400 deg. Flipped back over and finished under the basting some with some sesame ginger sauce. Quit possibly the best salmon I have had!

We have become Blackstone groupies as well. lol... The wife cooks. I just setup the thing and eat. 22" Adventure ready for the toyhauler. I did buy the carrying bag. Works but it's heavy. I normally just put the Blackstone itself in it and lave the folding stand out of the bag.

Recently bought the 28" Pro Series for home. It's not stainless. More like gray powdercoat but overall very nice unit.

Looks good. I'm debating between that model and the one with the air fryer. Too many decisions!
