Thomas Payne Furniture is peeling
Replace or Recover
If replacing who do you recommend?

We got rid of ALL of the TP furniture in our Momentum...BEFORE it started peeling. It is a huge issue that is widely known throughout the RV community (I've seen it referenced as "Thomas PAIN" ) furniture several times over the years. We replaced it with residential furniture in our camper. A residential Loveseat for the curbside, and two Euro style recliners on the Streetside. Seating for only four people is plenty for us though, for others, that may not work.

I will tell you though, when you replace the TP stuff with residential seating, you may have to get creative when it comes time to be able to "anchor" them down when traveling. We figured it out pretty quick, even though the loveseat method was/is a bit unorthodox, it works very well.

We had ours recovered. Mostly because we knew the recliner fits well in the space and most of the recliner/sofas we researched (for replacing) didn't have tall backs for resting heads on.

We both found the TP recliners to be not very comfortable. That made the decision to replace much easier for us.

We felt the recliners were comfortable, but they're even more so now. The upholsterer put new foam in (much denser and very comfortable). As I said the biggest reason was we knew the size and weight wouldn't change from what came with the rig. The second reason - the taller back so we could actually put our heads back and rest when reclining.

It wasn't so much the foam, it was the fact that the part that extends out to put your legs on was too short for me to be comfortable. Here is what we use for recliners now.....on the street side of the Liv. Rm....which puts us directly in front of the fireplace and the Television....Barcalounger brand. The model is called Jacque.
