Anyone have good dimensions on these before I go and spent time with calipers? I'm going to create the model file and 3D print me some of these covers. Just thought I'd see if anyone else has measured them out and has the info handy before I spend the time and effort.

The plans are on thingaverse.com (I think that's the website name).

We bought a set a few weeks ago, too. Don't remember the exact cost, but $10 sound about right.

There is less than a dollar or material in a pair of those. I printed a part for our blender yesterday that broke. Kinda neat what can be done with them.

I'll check thingaverse. Good idea!

Blender parts printed with non-food safe PETG material! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Got 'er dun. Third print was the charm as it usually is. Lots of dims to take into account.

They just sit in the cup holders snuggly and there are two tabs, one on each side, to keep it from spinning and to keep the buttons centered. Turned out pretty good. I downloaded the thingaverse model and wasn't happy with it (standard issue for me) so I started over from scratch and made my own model that I could tweak and control for better fitment. The one online didn't have the buttons spaced very precisely compared to my control panels.

I'll print a few more and give a set to my brother and see how they work on a trip or two.

We are interested in a couple of these. Would you be willing to share a link or details of where you purchased them?

Thanks,

Chinese crap. Can't even type the description in English. LOL

"Our bottom protector and the cap could installed flawlessly.Prevent your hand from touching the buttons. Not suitable for the cupholder has USB Port
Magnetic design with cover could open and close as your need, make your dog and you won't hit these buttons accidentally all the time."

I'll be making a version to fit with the newer USB port models as soon as my friends with them get back from vacation and I can measure the changes.

Many sellers on Etsy sell those guards. Do you use those features? I didn't, so I saved myself the money and just unplugged the cord from the wall. No more problem.

We use a wireless remote control outdoor switch from Walmart. I think we paid about $12 for it a few years ago, probably about $20 now. Usually pretty cheap when found with the Christmas lights and wiring. Works great.

Well, they are definitely not necessary, especially if you don't use the features and just unplug them. I just love to tinker and wanted something to model and print that was useful. And since there is $.74 worth of material in each one.....I'm printing them for all my buddies.

Now I'm printing Oreo coasters....with filling. Carry on.
