Threw out the crappy Thomas Payne Collection furniture!

If anyone is interested, my wife and i just found about a half dozen different la-z-boy power reclining love seat models that fit nicely in place of the cheap thomas pane collection theater seating. The one we are looking at is from the "pinnacle" collection. It is 57" wide, needs about 6" from wall to recline, and weighs 175 pounds. The price varies with the material selected. You should be able to order one from any la-z-boy dealer. It doesn't appear that we will be able to get ours before we head for texas in late january due to the factory shutting down 12/06 for about 3 weeks, but we will be getting one when we return in march or april. I hope this information helps someone in their search for the perfect trailer.

We have been looking for replacements, also. Does anybody know if La-Z-Boy has any showrooms in the southwest where you can actually sit on or lay on their sofas to check comfort prior to purchase ?

UPDATE: We’re at the 1-year mark now and the RecPro furniture still looks as good as the day we bought it. No tears, marks, cracks, or peeling whatsoever.

Everything still works (motored, hinges, chargers, lights, etc) as good as new.

We got the hide-a-bed. Not a good sleeper at all. Bought it for the sofa, not the bed. I suppose you could put an air mattress on top of it to sleep on.

We bought the RecPro sleeper sofa. Came with the 5 inch memory foam mattress.

Grand daughter had a friend spend the night this weekend. She (friend) slept on sleeper sofa. She said it was very comfortable, didn't feel any frame at all.

Her friend maybe weighs 130 or so, so that might have something to do with it.

How's the RecPro looking now? We're looking at replacing the Thomas Pain in the @$$ seat in our 2019 315RLTS because it's a pealing.

Lippert Thomas Paine is no longer using the crap bonded leather. If you file a claim with them perhaps they will make you a deal on replacements. They only offered us 20% off new after we filed a few months ago on the pealing 2017 furniture.

We bought Recpro Cloth loveseat to replace it. You sit higher and it’s comfortable. The only drawback is the height of the seat back is lower than the Thomas Paine and with my 6’ frame my head is higher than the headrest when the seat is reclined.

Can you provide an update on the Recpro furniture? We have not had a peeling problem but the Thomas “Pain” furniture no longer provides support. We are looking at replacing the Jack knife sofa and the reclining love seats in our 2019 331RLS. Would love to know how yours have held up.

We have a 2020 Reflection with the Recpro theater seating and trifold couch. Not pleather or cloth. Seems to be holding up ok. Interior is the Pebble Decor. Material is some type of synthetic something.

Our Momentum is a 2017 with minimal use and our theater chairs are shot. Grand Design won't stand behind them nor will Lippert. Hope that helps.

I think the heat in an unventilated rv is what causes the pleather to disintegrate. I bought some adhesive backed pleather like material off if Amazon and after removing all the loose pleather, attached the new material. It actually held up pretty good.

Ours lasted 1-2 years and we are "snowbirds" in Florida. ALL RVs purchased in the last five years have this Chinese bonded leather and need replacing, regardless of use as it is a sprayed on ground leather and separates from the fabric. Very sad experience for all RV owners. Does anyone know the email contact for Don Clark, CEO of Grand Design?

How long did the Thomas Payne stuff last? Just wondering what we can expect as we are not full-time, or anything close.
We have a 2019 337RLS 5er and use it about 100 nights per year on average. Just this summer my recliner started to peel a little where my head rubs on it. My remedy was placing about an 8" square piece of Gorilla duct tape over the area and then getting some headrest protectors off of Amazon to cover the tape.
Here's the only picture I have of it right now.
