Tiny Ants in and near bathroom sink

We've been on the OBX now 3 weeks.

After arriving we noticed tiny, I mean tiny ants around and in the bathroom sink and on the vanity top. They are less than an 1/8" long (see picture). They are smaller than 'sugar ants'.

Anyway, we've cleaned the sink, vanity top, underneath the sink. Layed out ant traps, sprayed with "safe" ant spray. Particularly annoying is they crawl in and on our toothbrush holder on the counterwhich which is unnerving.

We tried closing the stopper to the sink, and they still reappeared. We've stood and watched and We cannot determine where they are coming from.

Question, is it possible they are coming up from the gray water tank. I'm thinking no, because the shower shares the same tank with the sink, and we've never had them in the shower.

Here is a picture of the ant, if you zoom it you'll see it has 6 legs and I guess, black or dark brown.

Anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Several things to consider when camping - especially for long periods of time:

- either: dont hookup stinky slinky until needed or get a valtera shut off valve on the main dump connection and keep closed. Made the mistake one time of accidently leaving the valve open after draining..... the sewer smell coming up the tank vent on roof after draining will definetly remind you. Plus lots of potential unwanteds could be living in the septic and make their way into tank.

- get some ant deterrent spray, powder, or baited stakes and place near any trailer ground contact areas.

- be sure not to dump any drinks or cooking oils or residue near trailer.

- keep the galley clean at all times and dont leave out any open sources of food or drink unattended for long periods of time.

- remove any trash from trailer regularly. Dont leave it nearby either for to long. We sometimes will store our full bag in the bed of our truck locked up under cover till we can dump it in the dumpster.

We have used the following baits with success:

The Terro liquid baits work the best for us indoors. Outdoors we use the granules in the shaker bag.

We get them in the house. Best stuff I've used inside and outside is food/medical grade diatomaceous earth once you locate the trail or find the ant hills outside. Just wear a mask so as not to breath the powder when applying. Probably in your toothpaste if is the whitening kind.

Does anyone know "what" ants they are? As I said they are minuscule. Florida's favorite answer for small unidentifiable insects are "ghost" .... something.
