I have been thinking about adding a Tire Pressure Monitoring System to my trailer. Does anybody have one or know which one of them is a good one to buy. I am going to be going to the Grand Canyon this year from Virginia and would feel more comfotable if I had a system like this. I had a flat tire on my previous trailer and really do not care to relive the experience.

I use the TST monitor.

Mine is about 5 years old, and still works fine. They do have newer sensors now, that you can add air through, instead on taking them off.

It is amazing to watch the temperatures and pressures rise as you drive.

Another vote the TST 507 tire monitoring system. I have the flow through sensors which allows you to air up/down without removing the sensor. I wouldn't tow without a system now...definitely reduces the sphincter clenching worrying about a blowout.

I put the Tire Minder system on mine. I think it actually paid for itself before I put any miles on it. While setting it up I found I had a tire with about 50 lbs. in it do to a pinched O-ring. After setting it up, it sure gives you piece of mind always being able to instantly know your pressure and temperature.

Thanks for the info on the TST system. I am looking to buy one and wondered if anybody had to buy the repeater or was the signal strong enough to reach and be accurate on the monitor inside the truck. I plan on getting the flow through valves. Did anybody have any trouble with them fitting on the tires. Read a few reviews where they did not fit.

I just ordered a set of the 507 flow thru for my Reflection. I called in to TST Saturday afternoon and ordered it over the phone. If you call them direct you get a 3 year warranty (vice 2) and a 10% discount. In my discussion with the rep he said I should not need the repeaters for the size of my trailer. He did highly recommend to get metal valve stems if your trailer doesn't come with them. Got the tracking # yesterday and they will be here Thursday.

I just received my set of Tire Pressure Monitors from TST and programmed all the tires in, now just waiting for a warmer day so I can install them. Looks like a pretty nice system compared to some I have looked at. I will feeel much more comfortable with this system working on my way to the Grand Canyon.
