The local schools were out this past Friday so we loaded up and hit a local state park. It was an easy 95 mile trip with wonderful weather. This was my first trip to this state park and only our third trip out in the Momentum. Since I had never been there, I looked at Google maps and tried to pick a good site to reserve before hand. My site picking skills were not the greatest. With the wet winter we have had the ground anywhere not covered with asphalt is like soup, including the area around the site I had picked. While trying to back into the site, the heavy Momentum sunk to the axles when I slightly missed the paved site. Then while trying to miss that soft ground I sunk the front axle of the truck on the other side of the drive from the site. Finally got it parked and we had a lovely weekend. I relaxed Friday and Saturday and then worked myself to death on Sunday when I decided that the Momentum needed a bath along with the truck. Took me two and a half hours to wash the Momentum. I was too tired to take any pictures of it after cleaning. Here is a picture of the site.
Did a little bicycle riding and little bank fishing. The next time I will be sure and bring my Pirougue. And now I know which sites are the best to try and reserve.
