We are entirely new to RV-ing, and we've spent the last year researching, finally coming to the conclusion that (a) a bumper-pull trailer fits our intended travel style best, and (b) Grand Design is one of the best and most reliable of the breed (in our price range). All y'all's posts and advice her were a tremendous help, so we thank you.

We took our 22RBE for a shakedown cruise with friends a couple of weeks ago, and we had a wonderful time. Everything in the unit performed exactly as expected. And the learning curve (e.g., water hookups, leveling, handling grey & blank tanks, etc.) was not as daunting as we had feared. Towing with F150 Lariat Hybrid.

We are Rex and Connie, retired and nearly-retired, respectively.

Just wanted to come here to introduce ourselves and to rely a hearty THANKS! I know that we will still learn a lot from the veterans on this forum, so more thanks, in advance!

Hey Rex and Connie, so glad to hear the launch went well. May you make many happy memories in your 22RBE!

Five years RV'ing. We stayed within 200 miles first few years. Made mistakes and still do. It gets better and fewer mistakes! As a private pilot and a little OCD, I composed custom "check list" for Hook-up / Arriving / Departing. Food for thought: wind sensor option for awning will detect and automatically retract awning in gusty conditions. Need "smart arms" (Solera) about $750 and wind sensor $150. That's my 2 cents. Happy trails!

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your new away from home - home as much as we do! Everyone starts somewhere, and you started well with Grand Design. There will be issues, never fear, but the members here can help with darn near anything.

Congratulations on your purchase, I'm sure that the two of you will enjoy it. My wife and I started camping a couple of years ago and wish that we had started sooner. We started off with a TT but have recently upgraded to fifth wheel. Make sure to research the places/areas that the two of you would like to go and book early if you can. Don't be afraid to try different places. There's a lot of variety and different things to see/places to go/plans to make between Corps of Engineers campgrounds, state parks and private campgrounds. Now is the time to plan for next season. Have fun!

We got a 2670 mk in 2019, first camper ever. Think we've made every mistake you can make. Also made little changes and big changes (inverter with lithium) to make it work best for how we use it. Have stuck to within 5 hours mostly with one exception into md/pa with bigger plans for the future since we are not retired yet but in a few years.

Welcome to the rv world. A big shout out to Connie, you can make it, do you see the light at the end of the tunnel? Just like on this forum most people who have rvs are usually friendly and willing to help. So if you have problems at a campground don't be afraid to look around and ask somebody for help. One of the big mistakes made getting into camping is to go out and buy everything that you think that you will need. I think I am not the only one with stuff in my garage that I will never use. Some items are essentials and you can't hardly do without but most items just make note of in a wish list and then see if it is really something you will need before buying more things to store in your garage. lol. Happy memories.

Welcome to a new world of instant friendships! Don’t worry about your mistakes, they’ll be the same ones we have made. Yes, you will buy RV “must haves” that you’ll never use. We all have a closet/garage full of those too. Just go out and ENJOY! BTW the 5’vr in my profile picture is old. We now have a TT and love it.
