My wife and I are planning on purchasing either a 261BH or 265BH here in the next couple weeks. I’ve put months of research into this decision and been in touch with multiple dealers to try and compare pricing. I am in water/sewer/storm material sales and I totally understand that material has gone through the roof and didn’t expect travel trailers to be exempt from that…BUT the first round of pricing I’ve gotten is SO close to the MSRP…like not much difference at all. Does anyone have any recent purchases with these or other GD models? I know better than to take the first number they give me but right now the MSRP and sales price are so close it’s unreal. Have the costs gone up THAT much?! Any help is much appreciated. Thank y’all

Hi,

We did something odd. We mailed, yes through USPS to about 50 deaers. We sent the bid sheet requesting out the door pricing. We had about 15 responces. Some were only a few dollers off from MSRP to 30% off. We made it clear that we are looking for out the door price. I live in Florida but we purchased from a dealer in Missouri. They were just a hair from 30% off. We purchased a 381M

Get ready.....

As of August 1st, there is another 6% price increase.

Thank you both. Hopefully I’ll have one before that next increase…just struggling on what kind of an offer to make without insulting a dealer. Guess the worst they can say is no

I personally would never buy right now

I just would take some time off and wait if I was in between trailers

There's a lot of variables. A big one for us is freight charges, since we're on the west coast. We got about 15% under the MSRP (at the time) on our 261BH in January. Normally I'd call that a weak deal, but it took some work and some driving and a lot of closer dealers told us to piss off after we gave them the final opportunity to beat the price we got. It's a seller's market right now. Next year it will be a buyer's market, if you can wait. But if you're in a good financial situation, it really doesn't matter that much because these aren't expensive rigs to begin with.

We paid ~22% below MSRP in January...

Our local dealer had no product at the time, and wouldn't be getting any until May or so...

A dealer 2hrs away had one in stock, for about $500 more...so we bought it...

If you can find product, and you want it now, buy it...

Well I’ll make a long story short on what ultimately ended up happening. I’ll post the longer version in a new thread. Picking up my 2020 Imagine 2400BH today!

Insulting a dealer? Boy, that's funny. They insult and abuse their customers all the time, especially in the service department.

Indeed, I wouldn't worry even a little about insulting a dealer. Professional salesmen have a very thick skin, or they wouldn't survive in the business. They can take pretty much anything you throw at them. And they'll still come out on top most times. LOL.
