As a recent widow albeit a seasoned camper, I’m looking for a transport company to haul a new Reflexion from Indiana to Florida where it will remain permanently. How do you find a reputable company. The dealers charges are outrageous. I know most of you pull your own, just looking for a little advice. Thank you.

Sorry for your loss.
Have you received an actual price to deliver the RV. ? Based on what we spend on the road towing our rigs that price might be a good deal for a one time trip

The dealers price is $3000. Thought that was a little high- -that’s why I’m asking.

What about using one of the transport companies that deliver new trailers to GD dealers? $3K sounds a little high to me. I kinda doubt dealers are paying that much, but who knows?

I’ve been researching on the net but there are like a gazillion of them -some not even legitimate I’m sure. That’s why i was hoping someone had used one at some time.

If you haven't already purchased, wait till you get to FL. If you already own- depending on pickup and drop off point- $700-$1000 for fuel (round trip), 4 nights in a motel-$600, set up time at destination, 4 days labor charge, food, wear and tear on vehicle; $3000 may not be a bad deal.

You may well have already investigated this angle, but since your start point is Indiana, you might contact Grand Design directly (that is, the manufacturer, and NOT a dealer) and explain your situation. Maybe they can refer you to one of the contractors they use to deliver to dealers.
Grand Design makes a big deal at rallies about taking care of owners. Perhaps they can show you that they mean it

Good idea! Thank you. Although, I’m in no hurry-the RV park I’m going to is currently under water. It’s on Sarasota Bay.

Camped for 25 years. 2.5 years full time but alas- now -just a “snow bird”. There are no better people than campers and I enjoyed every minute especially living and working in Yellowstone - -but now that I’m alone, I will be stationary. My driving a rig would be much scarier 🙈than a hurricane. I’m just a little too old.

I use Indiana Transport to haul all of our units.

From Indiana to eastern PA is around $1600, so $3000 to Florida isn't crazy.

It might be under for a while , a couple new tropical depressions are forming ☹️

We stay near I-75/64 and our park had gotten plenty of water and wind damage from Helene. We are right on a creek that's an off shoot of the Manatee River. I was informed all the local beaches are wiped out and well as our fav beach on Casey Key.
But I bet the shelling is great right now (the only up-side to a bad storm)

Good luck getting the trailer down and if you do leave it have good replacement insurance. The violent storms are definitely on the upswing the last few years.

I’ll be keeping my new unit at the dealership till the park is ready. Don’t think there was a lot of wind damage-mostly water but the folks I’ve heard from said the 5th wheels were up high enough so they were fine. There are many permanent older mobile homes that are in pretty bad shape. Once delivered, my Reflexion will be permanent , unfortunately without insurance. No company will insure anything on the bay. I’ll probably wait till hurricane season is over.
