A conversation took place last weekend at a campsite where our kids were staying and starting me down a rabbit hole... We were talking about the roads Laura and I have traveled, the places we've been, and the things we've seen since hitting the road full-time and August, 2015. Our son-in-law said, "It would be cool if you had all that in a map." I said there's no way Google Maps will let you put in that many locations and Laura suggested I try RV Trip Wizard. I spent several days copying the stops and dates from my spreadsheet logbook and, though it takes a while to load when first opening, it worked (44,236 miles on the rigs, almost 300 stops/stays).

Then Laura and I got to thinking about how to use the information, combined with all the photos we have, to "re-travel" and revisit these memories over the coming winter(s). I've been searching and cannot find a travel journaling app or site that provides mapping similar to RV Trip Wizard as well as the ability to link some photos. Our photos are sorted into folders by date ranges and locations... I guess we could look at the RVTW map with dates and go through the photos separately - but it would be fun to combine everything. Does anyone know of anything that would come close?

I like your thinking. I keep track of each stop in a LAT/LONG format. I would love to put them each in chronological and see the ‘as a crow flies’ path we have taken. We are fairly new and only have about 4500 miles in 2 years. But, I would like to see that path.

Morning, Rob!

I found two software programs. I know nothing about them, and they are published by indie developers, so I don't know how long they will continue to be updated.

Travel Journal for PC and Mac Written by Raj Kumar Shaw

Travel Journal & Trip Tracker for Pc Written by Journo Inc. <- It looks like this is an Android app that will need an emulator installed on Windows or Mac to run it.

I also found this writeup:
How to Use Your Google Maps Timeline as a Travel Diary

I don't know if any of these will suffice. You have a great idea, though!

My daughter in law was a tour guide at that winery whilst the US government taught my son to fly fast jets, circa 2009. Pretty good port as I recall. Ha.
