Tree sap

While cleaning our 303 I noticed that there were several areas that had pine tree sap on the slide topper. I tried goo b gone but had limited success. I was wondering if there is a product that will clean this stuff off without destroying the topper material. That in advance.

Try a little crisco shortening, not sure how well it'll work with it hardened tho.
Or WD 40 might soften it up, but do a test spot to be sure it's safe for the finish. Doesn't usually take off paint.

Believe it or not, peanut butter will take off tree sap. The oil from the nuts does it. I used it on my car/truck that parks under trees. Trick is to let it sit for several minutes before wiping off. May have to repeat if sap is thick. I really would not bother with a slide topper or even the roof of the trailer if it were mine. The sap will not hurt the material but the substances you use to remove it might (petroleum based is a no-no).

I use methyl hydrate to remove sap.

Pinesol works really well if you let it sit for a few minutes. I've used it on fiberglass at full strength out of a spray bottle and it just dissolves even bigger hardened spots. Don't think it would hurt vinyl awnings

 

[Flat top]

Plain soap and warm water solution is the best way to remove sap, this all I use. Try to leave the chemicals on the shelf.
