Trickle Charger Question

I keep a cover on my trailer, so the factory roof mounted solar system isn't functioning. I have the red battery switch turned off so interior features are dead. I do have a trickle charger attached to the factory. The trickle charger says the battery is fully charged. However, inside the trailer, the circular Furrion battery guage (which stays on even through the battery switch is off)says the battery is only at 60%. The percentage drops a bit each day and the negative down arrow in displayed, which indicates that battery is losing power some how. Any thoughts on why my trickle charger says the battery is full, yet the interior display says otherwise?

Thanks!

Even tho the red battery switch is turned off, there is still some items still on-CO2 detector, radio presets etc.
You need to put in a true battery shut off, or disconnect the battery.

AJ, as far as the charger display and RV display showing different charge levels, does the Furrion display change when the (partial) shut off switch is turned to on? I am not familiar with the display on your RV.

Anybody recommend a solar battery trickle charger? Thx, John

Only thing connected to the battery on my coach is the underneath lights, leveling controller, hydraulic pump and schwintec slide controller when the battery disconnect is in the disconnect state. CO2 detector and radio are not connected. Draw is about 0.2A with underneath lights off and not running the hydraulic pump.

I have been using a cheapo ( less than $20) solar charger from Harbor Freight. I bolted it to the lid on the propane cover and clipped the connectors to one of my 2 batteries. It puts out very little but has kept my batteries up for 4 years now when it sits in storage ( florida) for most of 7-8 months per year.

My trailer still draws about .2 amp with the factory disconnect turned off. CO2 detector and the controller for the tankless water heater are still energized. You might have to have the dissconnect on for the maintainer to work depending on how its wired.

Remove the negative cable from the battery. Personally, don’t use trickle chargers anymore. They killed every battery I used them on. I just charge the battery with an automatic charger on 15amps each month.
YMMV

I think you charger is not charging the battery because the disconnect is off. Inside it is showing full because it is seeing the charger but because the disconnect is off, the battery is not getting charged, that is why the furrion gauge shows it going down.
