Just curious if anyone who has a factory extended warranty on their truck has ever been asked for proof on recommended maintenance on a covered part. Things like transmissions servicing, differential, transfer case fluid etc.

I know of folks that have been. What I do is keep a spreadsheet with dates, times, mileage, engine idle and drive hours, location where work performed, specific work performed, part numbers for consumables used, and if I have it, a link to the invoice for any parts (oil, filters, etc) that I ordered. That way I have a detailed list of everything done. I also keep dealer-performed maintenance on it with invoice/work order numbers.

I also keep a scanned PDF of any invoices for work or parts.

Yes, had a engine blow a few years ago and they wanted to see records of oil changes etc. specifically the last one to verify it had been done recently, I had them all. They ultimately replaced the engine.
