So I need to exercise to keep off weight (gained 40 pounds and took it off over the past 10 months). I like using the TRX Suspension trainer for a lot of reasons and was wondering of the ladder is enough to handle me at 225 Lbs. If not, Is there a location to mount TRX' X Mount (https://www.trxtraining.com/products) on a 2024 2500RL? I know it is an oddball question, but legitimate. Appreciate any thoughts you all might have.

I have a Momentum Toy Hauler and if I'm not mistaken, the ladder on it is rated for like 250 lbs. I'm about 185 and just as a precaution, when I climb that ladder for roof access, I always try to keep my arms bent and thus keeping my body weight as close to the ladder/trailer as possible. That puts more of your weight/pressure on the ladder downward vs. arms extended and weight/pressure downward AND outward from the trailer. I also climb it fairly slowly, in order to not make "jarring" movements, both up and down. I've not really had any issue with mine, other than a couple of years ago I noticed a couple of the mounting bolts had loosened up slightly. I retightened them snug and did not strip them out.

So far, I have been lucky to have a tree available for mine. I considered the ladder but feared it wouldn’t do well with the angle of force the trainer would put on it. I have been thinking about making a metal bar that I can mount on my trailer hitch. Have looked at truck bed extenders but worry they aren’t strong enough either, but give an idea of what to build.

The hitch solution is brilliant! Thank you very much! I've never had to use a tree before. TRX is unfamiliar to most and I just don't want to look odd to others. For whatever reason, in my minds eye, it just seems more acceptable to use the TRX in close proximity to the trailer. Anyhow, thanks again for the suggestion; it's a great idea!

I would consider that the trailer ladder is rated for 225 lbs pulling mostly down. I have used a TRX trainer at the gym and a lot of the times you are pulling in as much a horizontal direction as you are down (pulling from the center of a clock to the 4:30 or 7:30 position). This will be like trying to pull the ladder both down and away from the trailer, not just down as was probably intended. Good luck on your weight loss journey!

Edited to add that I just noticed Knightclimber already thought about the angle of force the TRX would apply to the ladder.

Thank you for the well wishes on the weight loss. I had a career in law enforcement and kept myself in really great shape. Then covid hit, my wife got cancer (she's fine now, thank God), some other crap, and I went from 6 days a week in the gym to 0. I'm just about 10 pounds away from the goal. I don't lift heavy weights any more and focus on AMRAP and cardio. Works for me. I just don't want to go backwards in flexibility, mass, or metabolism because of choices I make while RVing. I'll be twisted steel in no time flat! Tongue in cheek on the last.

My wife teamed up with a friend who has a nice shop and built a TRX mount that attaches to our hitch. We've been using it for about 7 years. Her design is in two pieces to make storage easier, and it includes loops halfway up the the main shaft for connecting the TRX Rip Trainer or tube-style resistance bands.

Even with substantial (and braced) square tubing, we can feel the system flex in use. Disconcerting the first time, then we got used to it. We use rock climbing nylon loops between the mount and the TRX hook to keep the setup quiet in use. We also have a thick yoga mat to facilitate floor work (with and without the TRX)

Good luck!
Chris

Found some trailer hitch hammock chair hangers that might work. Also found some trailer hitch game hangers for processing game animals. A few have an adjustable foot extension to help with stability. I might go that route unless I can get one made for less somewhere.

Sorry for the delay. We were camping up in Providence Canyon. The irony is that we live in SW Florida and had to run away from Georgia to escape a hurricane. Having been through three hurricanes, two direct hits, those folks up there are in our prayers.

Thank you very much for this! I do appreciate this. Being new to RVing, I was surprised to see several campers working out outside, all with different routines. I'll feel less "weird" now at least. I have a hitch on the back of the RV. I may try that route and thanks again!

That sounds like a super easy solution. Would you by chance have a link? We are going up to Savannah in the RV in October and it would be great to have a solution by then (I hope that does not sound pushy...nothing but grateful for you taking the time to post!).

Drifting a little bit, but holy smokes that rip trainer is awesome! Worth every penny.
