TSD Fuel Card in Canada

We are 5 weeks into a 3 month trip from Florida to Alaska & back again. I found out that you can use the TSD (Open Roads) card in Canada at Petro Canada card lock fuel stations. Each time I tried to use it my card was rejected. The specific issue was that the card lock display asks for 2 things not requested in the USA. First is the odometer reading & second is the Driver Number. After several calls to Open Roads who told me others have used the card in Canada at Petro Canada without using a Driver Number I asked Open Roads for that number. Open Roads gave me an Alphanumeric Driver Number & now the card works. I was charged a $1 non network fee & supposedly there is no discount. But when I got my statement I was charged $5.31 a gallon for a discount of $53 on 34 gallons of fuel.

I find it hard to believe a Canadian company is giving travellers a break. Fuel companies usually seem to hammer people here even though we have more oil than we know what to do with.....

OP, you're saying that you got a discount of $1.56/ gallon? That's 22% off the posted price of $6.86 (converted to gallons). That's huge!
