Upgrading control panel

Has anyone successfully switched out the analog Compass Connect enabled control panel for the 7” touchpad? Is it even possible or would it be too much of a hassle? Attached is my current control panel.

Why would you want it?

It won't function like the Momentum version, as you would need several components to make it work.

Also, the touch screens are notorious for being temperature sensitive (which is no big deal if you are in the same climate all the time).

The app will have everything available to your specific unit if you like the touch gadgets.

This is what I was wondering. If it won’t work then no point in doing it. But if it was a matter of plugging in wiring harnesses then it might be worthwhile.

I do use the app, although the other day some of the slides wouldn’t open from the app so I had to use the control panel.

I have not done this, but I do have most of the components to make it work. On my long list of things to do.

Those of you that ask yourself 'Why?' won't get it, so there is no reason to explain why.

Spend some time on Lippert's site and take some of their free courses. You will soon find out, it's not that difficult to swap things over. At least is would not be for my 2020 29RS. If you are familiar with automotive CAN bus systems, it's a piece of cake.

Of course, some people do not like electricity and fear tech stuff. YMMV.

Why change it?
Just use the push buttons. No different from pushing spots on a touchpad....
And it's factory installed....

More "Tech" isn't necessarily a good thing, as you noted above regarding the App....

Not so sure what you want to do is actually an "Upgrade".

I hope this is in the right thread, but, has anyone done a mod to put dimmers on the lights on the control panel? I saw something on Da Tube that was interesting.

I wish I had yours. The touch screen I have is slow and glitch prone.
