Has anyone used a USB or Type-C to 12V DC converter to power the monitor for your back up camera? My truck does not have a cigarette lighter and I really do not want to cut into any of the truck wiring to gain power since the truck is under warranty. I do not want to give GMC any reason to void my warranty.

The unit I have is Zeroxclub BW7 monitor and I can not determine the amp requirements for it. Some of the power cords are 3 amps and some are 5 amp. Also I read to not use a charging cord, only use a power cord

What are the power requirements for your monitor? Does it use a cigarette lighter-type plug? The ones I've seen are limited to 3 A output for a type C connector, and the type A is probably lower.

Requires 12v not sure if the amps. My truck does not have a cigarette plug. The unit does come with the cigarette plug in.

You can always run a "cigarette lighter" style outlet directly from the battery with fuse and switch and not cut into anything. I personally have not seen a 12VDC monitor with less than 5A demand. I'm surprised you don't have an accessory outlet that will accept the monitor's adapter. I know the Big 3 through at least 2024 models have one somewhere...
