New RV after being out of RVing for 6 or 7 years. 2nd trip out, and trying to beat the sun going down and make use of the convenience of OneControl and my slides. I know to check for clearance, and have always had to be inside the RV on prior RV's to put slides out...

The convenience of having it on my phone made me not even think about going inside, and I just pulled the phone out and started deploying the slides. The kitchen slide on our Momentum 351MS had a short quick delay while deploying, then deployed all the way.

Go inside to see that one of the kitchen drawers must have come open during travel, and the slide caught it.

Looks like new trim will be needed, but I imagine that the OSB can be secured back to the slide? Not letting it ruin our time this week!

Live and learn. I have a Momentum 394M and the streetside slide that has the stove/microwave/refrigerator is right next to the door for the pantry. A few years back, I opened the front door of the trailer to provide some airflow before deploying the slides, then went outside and fired up the phone app to run the slides out one at a time, starting with that slide. What I hadn't noticed is that the pantry door (which has a door handle but no latch), had somehow come open slightly during our travels. When the slide started out, the edge of it caught the door handle and broke it off. I heard the pop outside and immediately stopped the slide.....but it was too late and the door knob was broken off and a slight ding on the backside of the slide facing. It can happen to anyone I guess. Now, I have a checklist of making sure the door is closed (I also added a secure latch on the door after the incident), and that some pictures that we have hanging inside, over the top of the slide are still in place....basically nothing in the way of the slide operating and or hitting anything.

OUCH, those slideouts are not forgiving. Maybe (a huge maybe) someday they'll create one with crush prevention built in.

Yes, live and learn, and continue to learn after years of RVing I will just go inside from now on to open slides and check them before hand. I used to always check them when I was forced to have to do them from inside!

I have heard of pantry doors also getting caught. I know I am not the only one. the pros and cons of maximizing storage in these!

No they are not. The two big slides are both hydraulic, and very fast (relative to other slides I have had) and powerful. I am guessing electric gear driven would have possibly jumped some gears.

Nope, took out a lower cabinet door with our Reflection electric kitchen slide but got lucky it just took the hinges with it. Being inside pushing the switch allowed for a quick stop once I heard the noise. Since then ( we had'nt had it long) the slides get deployed just enough for me to take a peek. Also since then no more crushed hats or stray pillows either. Glad they aren't Schwintek or I'd of screwed them up a million times over

Happily, my slide-out "training" only involved crushing a Kleenex box. But, I now check behind the side of our kitchen slide out (2 cabinet doors and a drawer back there) EVERY TIME. Only had one of them open one time, but worth the peace of mind that everything thing is OK behind that slide.

351M - Had a small bottle fall out of the pantry on to the floor while going down the road which ultimately rolled under the door gap. Running the slide out i heard is slow just before hitting the stops. Looked down at the trim and it had pushed out the trim about an inch. Fortunately I stopped it in time to not break the trim and just bumped it back. Always looking and listening now when the slides go out...

Jo Ann is usually the one inside pushing the switch for the slide while I'm outside watching. We are in radio contact while slides are moving.

Been there kind of did that. I almost never use the app, except when I outside for the awnings, as I want to be where I'm doing what, so I was inside using the One Control center opening the slides on my front living room 376TH when I heard the grinding and potential crunching. Immediately halted and found an upper cabinet door on the front entertainment center had popped open during our travels. Couldn't see it. Now, I don't open anything until I've looked around all the slides to insure nothing is going to bind them. We lucked out and didn't have the damage you had but I came darn close.

OH ya, that little space between the couch and the wall on our 310gkr was a great place to store Grammas antique TV tray until it vibrated out a ways on the road. Then got scrunched when the slide was deployed. Oh Darn it!! Merrily we roll along.

We had a similar thing happen to us with the bedroom slide of our Momentum and the dresser drawers. I was able to repair the drawers and I replaced all of the slides with a heavy duty slide that has a built in latch. We still check them before we open the slide, every time. Kind of hard to do with the bed folded up but it's better than mangling the drawers again and maybe throwing the slideout out of alignment.
