If the West Family liked their trailer enough to buy it, why are they complaining. Just enjoy what you bought and go with it. Should not be a big deal.
I dont like the outdoor speakers on my 303RLS but I dont worry about it. I bought my trailer because I liked it and dont worry about what the new ones have.
Just have a good time camping and stop worrying about it.

Guess we can't all be as easy going as you are. [emoji2] . if I spent 50k+ on a fifth wheel, I certainly would not settle for speakers I don't like.
Don't get me wrong, I like everything about my imagine. People want to feel they are getting the latest and greatest and not have a trailer that changed a bunch of stuff before they even pick up the outdated one from the dealer.

I like seeing upgrades and improvements, that gives you a reason to look forward to upgrading. This is the main reason I like to go to an rv show every year.

I can certainly understand being a little upset if you pickup your new RV, tow it home only to see a newer version with several important updates. It's not like buying a 2016 about the time 2017's are arriving. When you see a lot of revisions being made it points to a product that was released before it was ready. It's not good for customers or manufacturers.
All that said it's still a damn good RV and their customer service in A1. We debated waiting because it was a new model but was given a price that we couldn't refuse. Overall I'm very happy and am sure the West's are too.

@gstepp. Harpers Ferry. Pretty place. Most of the year. I'm from the southern part of the state. Near Beckley. Hope to get up that way to the Gorge, Summersville and Harpers Ferry in the next couple years.

Totally agree with you Steven. I'm almost ready to buy an imagine and kind of wonder what the reasons were to make these changes. Did having a curtain cause to much water damage and they had to go with a door? Does a fiberglass cap give that much better protection on the front? (Silly questions to some I'm sure, but this will be my first trailer as I move from a pop up. If I had bought the imagine I saw at the RV show a few weeks ago, I would have been stuck with a poor product?

Jumping in here with my two cents worth. We have been owners since the company started the first year. I have never seen a company more in tune with their customers. I would venture to say that most of the changes were due to customer feedback. At both of the rallies and quite frankly any RV shows I have been to--Grand Design is always asking for customer, or should I say "end user" opinions on how something is working or what we would change. These suggestions are brought forth as design changes. I have had a 2014 369 RL for 2 1/2 years now. Are there changes from that to the new ones? Of course there are. Would I like some of them? Of course I would. It is human nature to want the latest and greatest. It's like anything else-you go with what you know fits best at the time. I can't fault a company for truly listening to the customers and being so responsive.

@ Sandi
I agree with what you say. They do listen and make change. I just feel they pushed the Imagine out too soon with what seems to be no real road testing. First time you run the heat you see a problem. Take a shower you see another. I would think these things would been seen in pre-series testing. That said I agree they do listen to us. I was first to inform them about the shower curtain and it wasn't long until there was a change. I'm just saying it would have been nice to have caught these things before series production started. And they are a really good company in my opinion.

@Gstepp
No water damage or leaks. The curtain was too long and would cover the drain. You would have to kick it off with your foot. Don't know about the cap. I think it's just a trend but I prefer mine over the new. There are no reasons I can think of not to buy. Just little things that have been resolved for the most part. I don't see anything better in the price range. I would have liked for the sewer piping and valves to have been inside the underbelly but in the end it's not that big of an issue. Myself I try to provide feedback to Grand Design in a positive way and from what I see they like the feedback and do consider your input. If I were buying again I wouldn't think twice about it. Their customer service is sort of family like and much much better than others I have dealt with in the past.

A little off topic but we went through Lexington a couple years back on our way to MI. Beautiful place. I was hoping to camp at the track on the way back but we stopped in Cincinnati instead. I hope to make it back up that way when I retire.

We had the opportunity to see the updates first hand for the first time this past weekend. Nothing really changed for me, the front cap is nice, I knew they existed on other units, wasn't enough to sway me to one of those other units. I don't like the shower door, my shower curtain is working fine and it gives me a little extra space in there. When and if it gets damaged or starts causing problems I will probably go with what Steven did with his. The heat vent doesn't bother me much, we are in Florida and not real crazy about cold weather, so we tend to avoid it. But we found that leaving the bathroom door open when nobody is in there, and in extreme cases (for us) a space heater do the job just fine. I definitely don't want the thermostat in our bedroom. Heat in the cabinet hasn't been a problem for us. The vent in the kitchen would be nice. This trailer is our first venture into RV'ing, I figure in a few years we will be looking for something else (Reflection) anyway, but for the time being we are still very happy.

One thing that is bugging me a little is I asked customer service a few questions, some were answered by them directly and promptly, but a couple they had to defer to the service department. I never did get a response on those couple questions, even after a follow up by me. They were about the heat issue fix and bathroom vent, figured if I could get the stuff (willing to pay for it) and do it myself it might be worth it. But no response from GD, which hasn't been the case any other time.

i have to agree if these items were added due to the year earlier flaws they should be made available to customers- recall processes piss off the consumer so if it ever comes to that the reputation of the company will get hurt- i so far have had no issues with my 2016 except for one of those crazy blind anchors falling off and i am having a heck of a time reanchoring it

We put a downpayment yesterday but wondering if we should back out ONLY because of the retractable shower door. It is so thin, almost like a piece of paper. What if the grandkids were taking a shower and slipped? They would fall right through the shower door and rip it? Any comments on this?

If a shower door concerns you yes I would recommend you back out but those doors are very durable

Not sure if you noticed, but you replied to a thread from 2016. The shower door on our 2021 22RBE seems fine to us.

Better that than falling thru a glass door. Paper cuts hurt more but glass does much more damage to the body. The shower door can always be removed and put in a curtain or your choice

They've had the same retractable shower screen on for several years now....seems to work for most people. (think thousands of Imagine/XLS owners).

They had us evaluate prototypes at one of the rallies. That shower door was on my list of things that can go wrong. I broke in record time as it slipped out of my hand. But my cousin likes that shower door in their GD

Yeah, it's probably not everyone's preference, but it works. Winnebago has been using those shower screens in their B vans for about 20 years already.

It's like anything....."if my grandkids slip and fall through it" can also equate to "if my grandkids slip and fall down the steps". Do we take steps away, or go on with life and take it as it comes.

When I was looking at different models, I thought I’d end up replacing this or using a curtain, but after using it for over a year now, I really like it and would replace it with the same if something happens to this one. I’ve had a standard curtain before and they are annoying as they want to get sucked in and cling to you if you brush up against them. A thicker residential one might not be as bad. I’ve also had one with a glass door and while it feels more solid, it swings out into the bathroom and you have to move out of the way to open and close it. This retractable one has held up really well and still looks brand new over a year in. I’ve had a friend camp with me with his two teenage sons and no one had any issues with it. The bottom of the shower is textured so slipping isn’t much concern. If anything were to happen, it would be more of a loss of balance fall, which is not likely and a glass door or curtain wouldn’t stop them either.

I know this was mentioned already, but wanted to add clarity to it as it looks like you’re new here. This is a very old post you replied to that is somewhat unrelated. It is best to start a new post instead of replying to old post unless there is value to add to the old post. Creating a new post specifically regarding the shower door would make it easier for someone else to find when looking through the forum, allow people to know exactly the topic of your question or concern is from the thread title which would help you get more answers, and it prevents us from looking through multiple pages of comments to figure out what is going on; though I did find many of the comments comical.

There's a lot more to these coaches than one part. My experience so far suggests that in general the GD product is well made. Are there things I would change? Probably. But my new coach is a big step up from my earlier TT by a different manufacturer. BTW, welcome to the forum, it looks like you're new here.

I agree... the Grand Design RV's appear to be generally better built than most I have seen. My previous RV was a 2017 Flagstaff V-Lite; we really liked it, but when the time arrived last Spring to upgrade, we bought the 337RLS and really like it. There have been a few issues and a couple of problems that the dealer fixed under warranty last October... we waited until the end of camping season as all could wait and we would have emptied out the RV by then. The only problem that has continued is a very slow water leak that (I assume) is behind the Nautilus panel. I will remove the vertical panel in the "basement", apply a few days of water pressure, and attempt to determine the exact location of the leak. This is not a "deal breaker" for me, but rather a problem that should be repairable. As the dealership has been generally good and responsive for the V-Lite and now the 337RLS, they will be notified of my findings.
