Water Pressure Issue

I have been reading other posts and it seems that the Renator pressure regulators have been an issue for some. We're on our third one. They stand by their product and have replaced them each time we've had an issue. But our water pressure is very low throughout the trailer even though we have it set to 45 psi, which is the highest we'll go because of many water leaks we've had in this unit. Should we be trying another another regulator. If so, what brands have people been having good luck with?

I'm not sure I understand. I know that the water runs through the pump but we aren't using it since we almost always go to rv parks where we connect to their water. And how can the pump pressure affect the water pressure in our unit?

It doesn't. What he is saying is that the pump if it were running would likely produce more than 45 psi, so you should easily be good at that pressure.

We pretty much run 50 all the time with no issues.

I run this regulator at 60 PSI and haven't had an issue yet. I just replaced it after 2 years, due to a build up of calcium inside that restricted the flow. We have ours set at 50 psi, works very well. I may try a little higher pressure, but truth be told, I'm a bit of a coward when it comes to water leaks. :)

Do you have a filter on your coach? We have our regulator set to 50 pounds which is a bit less than the pump. However, recently we had a drop in pressure when connected to shore water. Replacing the filter fixed that.

I have come across several places where the water flow is insufficient. I also set my regulator at 45 to 50. Many times the static pressure is at 45 but as soon as there is any flow, the pressure drops off. This is caused by long hoses or a long, too small run of pipe in the park. If it gets too bad, I'll fill my tank and use my onboard pump.

We're currently mooch docking with friends and that is better than abusing our welcome by explaining that they should run bigger pipe to their hose bibb. ?

When our Renator bit the dust, we replaced it wiith a Valterra. We run at 45-40. Renator may replace them, but that is of little use when out camping and it dies. That was our situation. The V has worked well for the past year and a half.
