Water tank question

An awful RV tech screwed holes into my main water tank when installing my solar system and said he would have to take my whole bed area apart to fix it - long story short he had already taken 7 months longer than he stated to fix the issues, so I said I have an auxiliary tank. What I didn't know at the time, because I bought this rig used without any manuals, is that it would seem as if the auxiliary tank doesn't work without the main? I just filled the auxiliary tank, but the water won't come through the faucets. Can I make the extra tank work independently of the main and how do I make this happen?

2003 Fourwinds Majestic. The main tank was installed in the rear just behind the storage that goes all the way across and the auxiliary tank is under the bed.

You may get lucky and find someone here is familiar with your brand/model RV, however, this is actually a Grand Design owners forum so you may have better luck on a forum that caters to your brand.

While this is a Grand Design site, I have no problem giving advice, free of charge, to anyone. I would make him pay for a new tank, and hire someone else to fix it, which he should also pay for.

Another option. Drop the underbelly and find the tank. Either remove it or you may be able to fill the holes with slightly larger Stainless Steel screws with a dab Silicone on the threads - a rather healthy Dab. I have no idea how to do what you would like done as I don't know the rig layout.
